The Magic Ship- Board Here!

17 years ago 0 158 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
(I wrote this at the same time Josie was making the change) I have had the same thoughts recently, this thread is getting really long and quite frankly, I am surprised the mods didn't shut it down like they did the last time. I don't have any problem switching...(I see in the time it took me to write this Josie recommended a name which is fine with me) We need to keep the Magic Ship in the thread for Freemom and other who drop in so they don't lose us. Being one of the originator along with THE Divine Ms. Rainie and the always sparkling M'Lady..this has grown way beyond expectations, and has served to support many people, more than I think we know judging by the number of views (almost 6000)in the combined 2 threads to date. I don't want us to lose the connection, but I believe those of us that have been on since the beginning don't rely so much on the group to help us through, but are using the thread to stay in touch from time to time. I have QUIT!!! No doubt. I keep forgetting to even take the evening Chantix, I don't crave, I don't urge, I don't "anything" regarding smoking. I am beginning to look at smokers with some level of disgust, though I really don't think that is a fair thing to do because I smoked for so long, but it just isn't an issue with me anymore. Life in general is good, I know longer need the level of support I did some forty-something days ago, but I don't want to short change the newer shipmates who still struggle, or even newer ones yet who are just joining. So party on all you wenches, The Captain will be here as much as he can, but don't panic if you don't see him for a day or two (Especially next week when he will be on a golf trip with no computer, cell phone etc) Cary on...I must be off.....Mr. Magic... Josie, thank you for starting the new Magic Ship thread. Captain, it's good to see you at the helm and I must say I can only agree with you that this thread needs to continue so that it can continue to be a place to quit smoking for people who want to have fun and be positive. I know I have made some really good friends here and my quit has been very smooth because of you all. Unfortunately time does not permit me to post as often as I am now back at work and my life has moved forward with extra responsibilities. Like you, (and I also believe Rainie), I am quit, I have QUIT, I will never smoke again!!! No doubt. I don't crave, I don't urge, and if I think of smoking at all...it is just that...a thought because smoking is not an option for me ever again. I would not let my quit buddies or myself down that way. N.O.P.E. ~ N.I.D.S. I feel very forutunate to have found such great shipmates so early in my quit to help me through and I want to thank all of you for being here for me...you know who you are...please keep in touch. I know that the newer members of the crew will stick together, keep supporting and encouraging each other and will be here for each other when the "older quitters" are away. Now, should any new people want to join in the Magic Ship, I am going to copy the original intent that Mr.Magic~the Captain, Rainie~our Serving Wench, and Ladycigevictor~First Mate had in mind for the Magic Ship. I hope you'll try to keep the party to the Land of Quit alive for us. Faith, JT, MomMom and all the rest of the crew...I will be back as soon as possible. MAGIC SHIP, METHODS TO QUIT SMOKING Yes, at first read the Magic Ship may seem like a silly boat floating amilessly at sea, but trust me there really are magic methods on our party ship. Here are some of the important things that have really helped us quit. -Positive attitudes, (Rainie preaches this to us all the time...thanks sista) yes it's important to all of us that we stay positive and if we're having a bad day we reach out for a shipmate to show us our glass is half-full and it always has our favorite drink inside. -Everyone has a job to do (the Captain, Mr.Magic will not allow slackers on board...but oh how well he likes to reward his crew), it doesn't matter what your jo

****Faith, your words mean so much to me that I just have to repeat them over again...I really, really do RELISH being a NON SMOKER**** quote: ________________________________________ It's the positive attitude of the Magic Ship, isn't it? The environment is perfect for keeping that positive attitude going and honestly RELISHING that we are all NON SMOKERS! ________________________________________ Wahoooo girls....looks like the Captain has left us to our own devices for a few days. :8o: :gasp: :8o: Yes, we will try to behave but we need to break out the wine and chocolate to finish celebrating our week of milestones. Hope you're really enjoying the golfing Mr.Magic, you sure deserve to celebrate after all your hard work and staying smoke free for 50 days. :) Psssssstttttt....here everyone, try some of the new dark chocolate with golden caramel filling that I brought back from work with me today.........TRUST ME, IT'S YUMMY :) I may have eaten a bit too much, but dinner out followed by lots of chocolate was my reward for 50 smoke free days!!! Ok all you 50 day people, let's go climb aboard the Cruise Ship thread for a visit and to celebrate being half way to THE BEACH!!! Yes, we're closer to our beach party every day and I hope someone tells everyone there to be ready for us. I just took a few minutes to calculate some arrival dates and if my math is correct, there are 6 of us landing on the BEACH within one month: JT ~April 25 Rainie ~May 5 Mr.Magic ~May 6 Ladyevic ~May8 Kygirl ~May 16 MomMom ~May 25 Did I miss anyone??? Feel free to add your name and date to our arrivals list everyone!!! Rainie, sweetie pie hunny bunches, did Mr. Wonderful enjoy his big birthday bash? I'm sure you cooked up something really tasty. Did you cook him the special reward meal he so well deserves after his lengthy recovery from the emergency "headpulledoutofbuttectomy" :)surgery he underwent back when you first quit? Lynne I hope your weather improves soon. Snow :8o: Gales :gasp: Hail  should not be allowed this late in the season....yegads....sounds like the middle of winter not spring. At least you can escape to the tropical sea breezes aboard the Magic Ship. J

Did somebody say CHOCOLATE? Of COURSE I have chocolate for all my shipmates -- I've never let you down yet, right? Busy weekend and I'm heading off to Texas on Wednesday morning, so don't know if I'll be able to post or not. My sister has a computer, but her 8-month old granddaughter sleeps in the computer room a lot, so we'll see. But if I'm AWOL, just know I'm thinking about each of my shipmates and sending good thoughts your way. You are all doing so well, I'm SO impressed with every one of you! It's the positive attitude of the Magic Ship, isn't it? The environment is perfect for keeping that positive attitude going and honestly RELISHING that we are all NON SMOKERS! Woo hooooooooooo!!!! CHOCOLATE for everybody!! (There's a little wine left, but Cap'n kind of wiped out the supply for his 4-day golf adventure. Never fear, I'll stock up before I head to Texas.) FREEMOM: Special note for you -- we haven't forgotten you. There's a special bottle of wine and some extra-special chocolate upon your return. Can't wait to see you again! We'll help you stay quit! Love you all -- keep the faith! Julie, key to maintaining weight was figuring that my metabolism was gonna slow down automatically so I reduced my caloric intake by 25% each day. Except when I was on the ship of course...there I can eat the wonderful chocolate that is always available! Yes, yes, the party was great!!! We even had the rockn' "jello shots" and a lil jaegermeister too!!!! It was sort of funny because the very few smokers were huddled up in one corner....I blew in and out and had not one urge to join them!!! Welcome back to all of you that have been on the busy side of life! And Momsquared...I can so relate to the Sunday on the couch! Had a "wee" bit of a hangy myself yesterday! It was a good day to watch Jimmie Johnson pull off 2 in row!!! Bristol ought to be something else this weekend with the new "car of tomorrow" making its debut! Well, time to get to work. Everyone keep smokefree and breathe nice and slow deep breaths, post, read, eat, walk, talk, kiss, draw a picture...do anything you have to when the big bad urge gets to you. And lets not forget to smile and MAKE your own attitude! It is up to you!!!! Julie, 2 of my neighbors and I are going to start walking this evening...I am happy to say that I have NOT gained a pound since I quit! I do have 15 that I could lose just because but not because of smokin!!!! Have a great day all...you are a wonderful non smoker....now start living!
