It's been a long time since I had one, but...

Rusty, LOL!!! I think it was more just my need to express it in order for it to go away. And it worked. And, I'm to the point where I can trust myself enough that I know that even if I ask for a cigarette (which, I wasn't really doing... I merely said that I wanted one... I didn't actually ASK for one), I know that I will not smoke it. And that's a good feeling to know that I'm mature enough in my quit that I can do that and not worry one bit that I will smoke... I won't. Period. End of story. Even if I were to ask for one, I wouldn't smoke it. It took a LONG time for me to trust myself again to not smoke, but now that I do, I am confident enough in myself that it's not an issue, and that's a really good feeling. No, I wasn't tempting myself, I was merely expressing my desire, which ironically, made the desire go away. Crave the Quit! Now Pam, why on earth would you ask your co-worker for a cigarette? Why on earth would you test yourself that way? And why on earth would you play that game:
I also wanted to see if my co-worker would offer me one
That's just pure silliness. Stop that right now! BFS, That is quite the dream! At least your conscious & subsconscious are on the same page. Danielle _______________________ The SSC Support Team

I had a smoking dream last night! First one in probably 6 months. I know what caused it... last night, I told a co-worker (who smokes) that I wanted a cigarette. He said, very casually, "you don't smoke." I said, "I know." And that was it. End of discussion. End of the craving too. I just had to say it, acknowledge it, and then it was gone. I also wanted to see if my co-worker would offer me one (not that I would smoke it if he had), but he didn't. Now I know that I can trust him to not give me one if I ever tell him that I want to smoke. That's a good thing to know about a person, in my opinion. So then, last night, I had a dream that he DID give one to me, and that I smoked 2 puffs of it and it was the nastiest thing I'd ever tasted, and threw it out coughing and dry heaving, and my co-worker said "that's a waste of a cigarette!" And that was it. Guess my sub-conscious just needed to deal with that situation. I don't know. Anyway, just thought I'd share. Crave the Quit!
