It's a very tough morning

Porky - I was also looking for you yesterday to see how your appointment went. I'm sorry that you're feeling so down. But, it actually sounds like you got some positive news...you can increase your walking & lifting and now you'll start the Chantix. I'm using Chantix and it has been incredibly helpful! I think these new additions to your "quitting tool box": the increase in your activity (walking more, etc), the Chantix, and each added minute/hour/day/week of being quit will all help pull you through this tough phase. Remember to look at your stats - they are very impressive and inspiring, especially to someone like me who is following behind you. You WILL NOT cave. You are a non-smoker now. YIPPY :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/24/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 13 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 467 Amount Saved: $84.5 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 2 Mins: 59 Seconds: 22

Porky, We're all allowed to feel sorry for ourselves from time to time. As long as we're mindful about not letting it last toolong! ;) I sincerely admire your courage and strength - I'm not just trying to make you feel good, I actually mean it! Tutti & Porky, I've been following your inspiring posts over these past few days. I don't know why the cinnamin thing helps with cravings. I had a small bag of those little red hot hearts (that come out around Valentines day) leftover in my apartment. So, when I was having a bad craving last night I grabbed the bag. They really seemed to help. So, today I went out and got some cinnamin gum - and it seems to be doing the trick. I don't know why and I don't care - I'll gladly try/do anything that helps!!!!! Keep up the fight - I'm right behind you! Those are great suggestions! I play on the computer. I notice that when I'm in class and painting, smoking never crosses my mind. It didn't cross my mind much when I was smoking. Keep hanging in there you'll make it. Porky....So understandable...you are new to your quit and with medical issues right now and hubbie still smoking it is triggers and temptations.....I had neck surgery and had health issues for two years prior to that while I was quitting.....Just want to tell you hang in there and you can do this.....Believe in yourself and when those negative thoughts hit just do not entertain them by dwelling....Read....crosswords.....knitting....painting my numbers.......whatever hobby you like to do that you can rest your back at the same time....Congrats are quiting and everyone is here to help you on your journey...shirl :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/12/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 600 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 12,011 Amount Saved: $2256 Life Gained: Days: 69 Hrs: 17 Mins: 48 Seconds: 11
