Jazz Unfortunately, you unknowingly tapped into one of Hawaii's hidden shame-filled historic events ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 321 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 12,840 Amount Saved: $2,182.80 Life Gained: Days: 45 Hrs: 8 Mins: 3 Seconds: 0

Cassy, your post made me laugh. One of my first, vivid "patch filled" dreams was about a trip to Hawaii. Everybody in Hawaii smoked at one time or another, even the kids that were like 4 years old. All the people that had quit smoking were walking around with a tube of skittles and they kept shaking them at me. It was like some kind of ritual or something. I'll never look at Skittles the same again!! Keep your mind and hands occupied. My favorite way to keep my hands occupied is Skittles. I know it's not a healthy one but it works for me. As for my mind I like to read all of these great posts. They make this quit so much easier. Also, I like to play with my kids and act silly. Humour makes everything better. This is a great post! Last night I found myself craving and my mind went blank (something it does frequently - hehe)- what to do? I'm going to copy these "beat the craves" and will be more prepared the next time. Excellent suggestions! This is a brilliant list I'm having my own little bump-o-rama today. Don't mean to steal any bumping thunder (aloha) but I can't fight this feeling anymore :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/5/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 1278 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 25,560 Amount Saved: $5,751.00 Life Gained: Days: 99 Hrs: 15 Mins: 12 Seconds: 6

Mine is the pull and peel liqourice. I have to pull every string off and eat the pieces one at a time very slowly. By the time I get through a string I'm feeling much better.
