Who are the Febuary 07 Quitters?

Yes, Legend, we all went to different schools together and we are all related. So back off, bugaloo! Non-smoking women with raging hormones could be your worst enemy. Or, in our case, your best friend. Hey everyone, so glad nobody is slipping. With all of this love and support for each other, how could we? We are fun, aren't we! Tutti said: "I can see you right now with your lips pursed together, asking your husband in that sassy tone, "Well, how many did ya smoke today?" You know, that real digusted tone. Let's not forget that one eye brow raised and that cold steel glare in your eyes." What is it? Do you all go to the same school or something? I've gotten that same look from so many women -- regarding a variety of topics -- I can't even count them. This is the funnest bunch of non-smokers I've ever been around. Tutti- First of all, you're my new favorite author! I love your posts! Secondly, is this the son-in-law married who is married to your pregnant daughter? If so, it wouldn't hurt to remind him that as of this Fall, when the baby comes, he needs to be smokefree! Your grandchild is not going to be held by stinky arms, kissed by smelly mouth, and/or changed by smokie hands! Whoa, seems like I'm getting a bit over-zealous here, so I'll shut-up. ;p Nurse - Can "encourage" your hubby to join the SSC? Tutti & I promise to take it easy on him! :eg: But I can't control Legend & Whynot...they can get unruly at times! Not to mention Quilt and Momom....watch out! ;p Now, tell us how you're feeling about tomorrow night?? Nursey, Uhh Huh. I can see you right now with your lips pursed together, asking your husband in that sassy tone, "Well, how many did ya smoke today?" You know, that real digusted tone. Let's not forget that one eye brow raised and that cold steel glare in your eyes. You're going to flounce too when he tells you how many he smoked. LOL I'm not laughing that he started smoking again. I hate that and sure wish he hadn't. But you know good and well you're flouncing around with those lips pursed together while you're laying down the law. ;) I've read over and over that slipping is part of the quit for some people. That's probably what your husband is doing right now. Ask MomMom if I slipped? I started the same day that she did and FOUR days into my quit, I slipped. Oh man, I hated myself for it too. I'm sure your hubby is really kicking himself right now but since he's around friends who are smoking, that isn't helping. Maybe if he got back on the wagon and steered clear of those friends for a couple of weeks his quit would be more solid. What do you think? You know, I haven't had anyone smoke around me at all since I quit. I wonder how I'm going to handle it when it happens. Ew, I really dread that one. I've walked through cigarette smoke in parking lots and didn't effect me but to actually be in a room with someone who smokes, I haven't had to cross that bridge yet. My son-in-law quit smoking on Jan. 1st and I just found out that he slipped two weeks ago. He didn't want me to know because he didn't want me to be disappointed in him. I can't help but be disappointed. Not in HIM but that the nicodemon defeated him...for now. But, I'm encouraging him as much as possible and hopefully, he'll quit when he's ready to tough it out. He does smoke outside. He sort of acts embarrassed if I open the front door and see him with a cigarette. HEEEEEE!! I keep opening the door too. HEEEEEEE! Your hubby will come around. I know you're disappointed but just encourage him all that you can. Do lay down those ground rules though. You don't want or need him smoking around you at all. How is everyone else doing today? Hope to hear from everyone. Stay Strong!! Tutti My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/18/2007 [

54 and going strong...save for that little slip we discussed earlier (sorry, but I can't just let it go...I feel I have to remember it). Trying to let go of my husband's quit. I'll just have to lay down the rules that he cannot smoke in my presence, and no way is he ever going to smoke in our home (he never would, anyway). I'll sort of have to adapt a don't ask/don't tell policy in order to maintain my sanity...but I know I'll ask anyway. And in my presence means anytime we are out together, not just while he's in my line of sight. What aggravates me the most is that he was the one who said "anytime you are ready quit I'm ready". So I decided I was ready not just for myself, but also for him a little bit. And he's not holding up his end. Anyway, like I said, I'll lay down the ground rules and will bite my lip when he slips (at least I'll try). Thanks for the support everyone. Not one single cloud in the sky and man, is that sky blue today. The sun is shining so bright and it's a warm 72 degrees here in Texas. The bluebonnets are blooming all over the place, their color is so brilliant, and they smell better than ever. Oh yea, and I don't smoke!!! Yee Haw!!!! Wish ya'll were here. We'd have a big ole bar-b-que and celebrate our new lives as Non Smokers. Wouldn't that be a ball?
