4 1/2 days to go

JDK, Have you worked the workbook over to the left? If you haven't, you really need to. It will help you out so much. I was still smoking and reading the workbook at the same time. At some point, I just got so fed up with myself as a smoker that I put out half of a cigarette and destroyed the rest of the pack. So, if you haven't read through the workbook, you really need to. Just reading the information and educating myself actually made me want to quit. Wish we could edit here after posting. Should have read: Working the workbook here, NRT, Chantix? (I don't think NRT and Chantix are recommended to be used together.) Kevin, I'm getting ready to leave with my wife, so this'll be short. I know how much you're struggling with this and trying to make it work. I admire how you're not just giving in and giving up for a few days (which usually, for me, turned into weeks, months, then years). It sounds like there's something else that needs to happen to help you get through hell week. Working the workbook here, NRT, Chantix. Only you can figure that out. I'm with you, Kevin. I think of you often through the day, wishing you well. Hi All, Thanks for popping by. If only I had popped by a little sooner today. The good news is that I haven't given up deciding to quit. Thats just not going to happen now..ever. Those IM's help a lot, btw. As some of you know, I am in constant day 1 limbo at the moment. My quit diary so far : Thursday - make it through from 12noon to 7am (when I bought a pack of ten) Friday - make it through from 2pm to 7pm (20 smoked like crazy) Saturday - a better day - up at 6am watching rubbish kids tv - not thinking about smoking - 2pm GODZILLA strikes - 4pm buy 40 royals and yet another new lighter. I notice they have now run out of lighters. - 5pm here writing and saying hi. GODZILLA struck quick at 2pm but it was 2 hours before I went to the shops, why? Well It was something that phil said to me in an IM. I had a mental picture of Pat giving me an almighty slap :) I know it is important to identify what my triggers are each time I slip. So I have a pen and pad with me at all times. Positives are what add a lot more time to my quit. Especially thinking about all the replies I get here. So I will end with a little humour. Did you hear about the scarecrow that was invited to an awards ceremony? Apparently he got best in his field Kind Regards Kevin p.s. I really hope I eventually actually make it to day 2. Hi Kev and Freemom, Thanks for the good thoughts and story on triggers. I'm patiently looking forward to that time when they get weaker. In the meantime, I'm just happy to not be smoking anymore, period. Over 2 1/2 days now and feeling strong about it this time. Hi Mike and Kevin. Hope you had easy days today. :) Keep Godzilla down and out for the count! Remember - as you face and conquer triggers, they diminish. Yesterday having breakfast with a friend triggered a crave to stop to smoke afterwards before continuing on with my day. Today I met another friend for lunch and lo and behold, when we were done, I got in my car and just moved on to my next stop - no craving! Stay strong! Kevin, It was great talking with you on the IM. Thanks for your support. It's meant a lot. I'm happy for you that you're in the ring, boxing Godzilla in a cage fight for the big prize: "Kevin comes into this round like a man possessed. Godzilla, usually so powerful, so in control, looks scared. Yes, he looks weak, people. I think Kevin has gotten the upper hand here. Godzilla is backing off. Taking body shots. Left. Right. Left. Kevin pounding. Not letting up. Godzilla wavering. He's on the ropes, folks. Kevin continues the attack. He sees his opening here and he's not going to let up! Godzilla looks panic stricken. Holy Moley! Godzilla goes down on the canvas! He's NOT getting up, folks! Has Kevin done in this vicious opponent? One, two, three, four , five, six,...." do do do do, do do do do... it's friday the 13th...lucky day for me ...do do do do, do do do do Hi Kev, just checkin in to see how you're doing and look at you stomping the daylights out of GODZILLA! I love all the music you've got happening and all the supportive friends dropping in. (waves magic waves at everyone :))
Now where do I get a blow-up godzilla and hammer. I feel this could be very theraputic
Here Kev...hands over the giant sized blow-up and a huge honkin double headed mallett...use these on the weekend between explosion posts...you'll feel so much better when there's nothing left of old godzilla but the smell of pummelled plastic. Thanks by the way for liking my signs people, now it's your turn to make up some good ones! Kev, check your offline messages if you haven't already and can you please help Genevieve and anyone else who doesn't know how, learn to check theirs too please? I owe, I owe, so off to work I go...to have fun Pat :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 75 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,018 Amount Saved: $1050 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 19 Mins: 27 Seconds: 48

Hi freemom, Thanks for popping into my thread. I will definitely check out the thread you listed. Phil - Thanks for putting up with my jokes. Mike - How you doing today? Hope you're keeping with the chantix Gen - Did you manage to get IM working. If you need to test it, I am online all day. I won't be posting too much today as I need to restock on my anti-godzilla ammo. However, this is temporary. Expect a post explosion on Saturday and Sunday. Love and peace Keep positive! Kev ladycigevictor/Pat really does make a good sign. I've only just learnt how to stick a different smiley in my posts. Hey Kevin - glad to hear you are doing so well today. Pat makes the bestest signs ever, doesn't she! I found an old post by Duffis last night and bumped it, you might have to scroll down in the active discussions to find it, it was called "A Little Help For my Friends" or something like that. It had great suggestions of things to do and say when a craving hits. Everyone should print it out and carry it with them. Later!
