Out of No Where...Going No Where

Hi Mercy, Keep hanging in there, okay? I know it will get better. It always does. You're only 5 days away from the beach!!! How incredible is that? It's super!! After I bumped the one post, I found even more posts where people had trouble at the 100 Day mark. It must be Nic's last ditch effort to keep us from making it to the beach. Right now, with Spring here, it's even harder on us. You have the 100 Day slump and I had the 60 Day slump....Then add spring time to the mix. That's like having a double dose of trouble. I don't know about you but I'm having trouble doing tasks outside because when I finish a task, I want to reward myself with a cigarette. I'm having trouble coming up with new rewards to replace that cigarette. Plus, I've gotten SO tired of the same treats to battle cravings. I think I'd rather shoot myself in the foot rather than eat another sunflower seed. ;p We need to find new rewards, new coping mechanisms, and expose ourselves to this warm weather a lot. What do you think? I know those cravings will leave soon for you so let's think of some good rewards and new coping mechanisms. Okay? Hang in there, okay? You're doing such a wonderful job. Do you want to trade stats? LOL :p Wow, only 5 more days!!! Stay Strong, Tutti PS Mom and my sister use prescription medications and prescription pain killers for their fibro. I want to try for as long as I can to keep from taking anything like that. It sure can be so painful though. Thanks Tuttie, I will look for the post. I have had a pretty good quit compared to some of the posts I have read. It is kind of ironic that I came this far and NOW DECIDE to have a harder time. It eases up off and on. Durring the day it wanes. The mornings use to be easy for the longest time...and now I feel bothered. Also getting home from work....and free time is harder. I keep hoping this 100 day thing is real and it will pass. Something doesn't want me to wear my little poko dot bikini at the beach. :p Mercy ps: what do your Mom and Sister do for their fibro? Hi Mercy, How are you doing tonight? I hope you're hanging in there because you're just a few feet from the beach. You're doing so great!! Hey, I just found a thread under the forum Avoiding Relapse and the thread is called, "The 100 Day Crave!" There were quite a few that hit a bad slump at the 100 Day mark. This may be the biggest part of your problems right now. What do you think? Sure are a lot of slumps, huh? At any rate, each slump doesn't last long, including the one at 100 days. So, you just hang in there.....okay? I don't have an auto-immune problem that I know of. I'm getting arthritis pretty darn bad now but you know, I'm going through menopause right now too. I haven't been to the doctor for arthritis OR menopause. I know that menopause causes a loss of calcium in women so I'm taking a good calcium vitamin with D and I'm taking a Women's multi-vitamin. I'm just really afraid to see the doctor about arthritis and be given a medication to take for it. My Mom and my Sister both have fibromyalgia and Mercy, both of them have had a worse time with the pain medication than from the disease itself. So, for now, I'm taking my vitamins and the only thing I take for pain is plain, old aspirin for inflammation. Geesh, I'm only 46 and I feel like I need to carry and oil can around with me for my joints. ha ha ha ha ha ha Oh well, it can always be worse, huh? The only thing that can threaten my immune system is my Diabetes. As long as I keep my blood sugar under control, I'm fine. Diabetes doesn't have to be a death sentence and the diet is really easy to follow once you get use to it. Let us hear from you, okay? Look up the post that I found and you'll feel better about that 100 Day slump and knowing that it won't last. You know, let me just bump it for you real quick. K? You hang in there and stay strong. You know that we're here for you and want to help. Stay Strong and KEEP YOUR FAITH, Tutti My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/18/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 67 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,017 Amount Saved: $240.53 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 2 Mins: 25 Seconds: 55

Tuttie, To answer you question.... I'm not sure. Way back in the 80's I got Chronic Fatugue Syndrom. Who knows if it was mis diagnosed. I lived with flares over the years. Sometimes I would be tired and achy for a few days...or even have a bad month. Then it would turn around and I would be well for a long time. As the years went on... the flares increased. Around the year 2000 I was having what seemed to be more bad days than good. The doctor then told me that he felt it was now Fybromyalgia and that the two conditions are related. More years went by and last summer I was really bad the whole summer. Now I find out my ANA blood work had been high way back in 2003. I don't believe Fibromyalgia can effect that. It can make your sed rate go up (which mine is) but not your ANA. So now they know I have some autoimmune factor going on. I don't think it quiting has made it worse...but I think I may be more in tune to my feelings...(both emotionally and physically) since I quit. I mean... from the first day of quiting we tend to think about what our bodies are feeling...and what our emotions are doing to us. Well.. I see this doctor tomorrow. I don't know what to expect because most of these doctors want to hand out meds that I don't want to take. Last summer they gave me a round of prednisone. That was the first and last time I will EVER TAKE that poison again. LOL Hang in there .... Do you have an autoimmune thing too? Hey guys. I feel so loved. I didn't see all those posts as I did go to bed at 8:30pm!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then I got up for work and got home. Yes.... still having a hard time...(go figure after 93 days!) So I laid out on my patio with my dogie and felt the sun on my body. Then I took her for a walk and poped dinner (for one) in the oven. So here I am....smoke free...but still feeling "whatever" Gosh..this is worse than PMS!! Work was busy ....yah right..cut the hours. Thank goodness the supervisor wasn't there today. It's not that I don't have a good job....but I will have to wait for this supervisor to get transfered. They alwasys do. He is a REAL JERK. Not a nice compassionate bone in his body. Thanks for loving me!! Mercy ps: who's paying for my stitches from that dish that hit my head? :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 93 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,874 Amount Saved: $415.71 Life Gained: Days: 12 Hrs: 3 Mins: 46 Seconds: 3
