Its so nice to see familiar faces! DFW gal, and Lady thanks for saying positive things about OK. The typical response up here when I tell someone I'm moving there, is "Oh, I'm so sorry". Which of course makes me cringe! Surely its not so bad if other people live there? DFWGal & Lady , pre-congratulations to your 2 year anny! Isnt it a great feeling? And Isn't it funny how your dating world expands when you no longer smoke? I didnt realize what a turn-off it was for some people, or just how gross it is. DFWGal,I'm glad you found someone who doesnt smoke. And If he is your Mr. Right, can you imagine....your opportunity with Mr. Right would have sliped away if you would've still smoked...hmmm. that's one to ponder. I'll check into the Parrothead. ....thats not something you made up is it? haha it sounds funny. Lady, I agree with you- a person either smokes or doesnt. My fiance had tried that with me earlier. But I asked him how many "non-smokers" he saw with a cigarette hanging off their lips? Ding-dong. He's a smart man, but obviously he didnt think about that one too closely. haha And Lilly, thank you for you support! I'll will check back a couple more times, but pretty soon I wont have a computer anymore. I will more than likely check back in at the 3 year mark so find you all again. Congratulations on your accomplishments, and I hope to talk with you a liitle more before I get cut off! Live well, laugh often, love much! WOW! I need to get in here more often. DFWGAL... How is your mom???? Please let us know how she is doing. I think of her often. Tell her I asked about her. Alaskan Girl - I went out with one guy who told me at dinner that he smokes "sometimes". I laughed. I said you either smoke or you don't. Smoking is an addiction. It was second nature and a part of reality. After dinner we went for a walk. On the way out of the resturant, he asked if I would mind if he smoked. I handed him a peppermint and said "when I quit, everytime I wanted a cigarette, I would pop one of these in mouth. I still carry them with me to this day". :) I don't smoke. I don't want to date anyone who smokes. I don't care to be around it at all. Life really changes. Two years seem like forever but these last two years have been the best of my life! Congratulations AG.... Hello to all you familiar names!! I too just wanted to pop in since I am near my 2 year mark. I NEVER thought it would become a habit to be a non smoker. I love it!! And, wow, have the costs of cigs gone up or what? I think I would be eating mac and cheese if I was still a smoker. Yes, this changes dating a lot. My current guy is a non smoker and we both love it. He said he would never have dated me if I was a smoker....I am so glad we met when we did. I almost gag when I come home from rest. and bars and smell the smoke in my hair and on my clothes. How did I ever think that didn't have a smell or was acceptable to my non-smoking friends?? Crazy how things change. Anyway, glad to hear that ya'll are sticking to this....it has been fabulous for me. And AG, you will love Ok. I live in Texas and I visited Ok City a few months ago and had a blast. If you have any interest in Jimmy Buffett, tropical music, and hanging with friends who also get involved in charity and the community (and very few smoke) check into the Parrot Head club up there. There website is under COPA.com (Central Oklahoma ParrotHead Association)...hehehe. I wish you all continued success and thanks for sharing this journey with me as well. Big hugs and congrats to all!! BS, yes its the same guy. He had smoked for 16 years and quit for 2. At that time he was re-starting until I told him uh-huh, no way.He didnt like that I gave him an ultimatum thats for sure. But I didnt care much , cause I'll be darned if I was going to date a smoker after having just quit myself!! Mr. Right will come along one day, you'll see. Unfortunately In my personal opinion, I think they are along the lines of Mr. ALMOST right. haha. Yes, we are all flawed, and Its a matter of deciding if you can live with those flaws. But then again, there are some CRAZY men out there! Speaking of which, You be safe while dating!! Happy 2 years to you also, If I'm not back by then. Live well, laugh often, love much! AG, CONGRATULATIONS ON 2 YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did you ever think you'd make it this far when we first started this thing 2 years ago?!?! I can't believe it! So is this the same guy you've been dating this whole time? I think I remember when you first started dating him... wasn't he a smoker? I remember all of our dating posts. We were going through very similar issues at the time. I wish I could say my dating life is going as well as yours, but it's not... at least not yet. Mr. Right hasn't walked through my door yet, but someday, I'm sure he will. Anyway, congrats again on your HUGE 2 years!!! I can't believe it's been that long! I'm about an hour from OK... it's not too bad. I think you'll like it. Like Lainey said, it can't be any colder than Alaska! I hope you love it! Congrats on everything! You deserve the best! Crave the Quit!
