McL, That is the experience that knocked me off my longest quit; I found myself in a situation where fighting the craving seemed too exhausting and giving in was a way to recover from the fight and gain strength. What a twisted trap to find yourself in. The only right decision is the one you think you're too weak to make. I've been fighting so long and held my ground the whole time against amazing odds that now I want to relax and reward myself with a smoke?......?......? I think I missed a turn back there somewhere. This is what I lost my longest lasting quit to and I wasn't as strong as McL and kept on smoking until just recently. I can't let myself get twisted like that again, I've got my quit on a treadmill. Next time that fight comes I'm going to move like a butterfly and sting like a bee, no white flag for me. Keep it up McL, you can do it! Healer I have slipped before - twice. You asked why - because I believed I wanted to. I'd also been experiencing craves for about a month and I got tired of resisting - thought I might as well get it outta my system and smoke. But I do not want to be a smoker - I don't want that life and I'm honestly not going there again. So there you go - it happened and I learn and continue. Thanks for being there folks - it really helps. Hi Sharon- One question... with such a long, successful journey (and I am guessing no slips before?) Why? Hi everyone and thanks for your support and kind words. Well Mom you asked what it tasted like - well it tasted like the worst sickarette you ever smoked and strangely enough I somehow convinced myself I enjoyed it. I really felt it the next day too in my nasal passages and sinuses. It's got me worried too - this isn't my first slip - I've had 2 others - one back in Nov and 1 at new years. I know from past experiences where slips can lead so I'm determined to get back on track and stay smoke free. Worth it? Not for a nanosecond.
