What's up with the coffee?

17 years ago 0 357 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
imallclear, I gave up caffeine 11 months ago on the recommendation of my physician due to fibroid breast disease. I stopped drinking coffee (easier than stopping nicotine but still not pleasant) and started drinking hot green tea (yuck is the best adjective that comes to mind). After about three weeks with the tea I switched to decaf flavored coffees- I was so happy to be rid of the green tea that I didn't even notice they were decaf! I've not had a cup since I quit though, I think it would trigger a craving for nicotine! Best of luck to you! Coffee actually seems to alleviate my desire for nicotine. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who experiences coffee as a trigger, but that's not how it effects me. I thought it would bother me, and I expected to have to give it up for a while... but it's not only been fine, it's been helpful. I've been drinking coffee all along and had been enjoying it until the last week or so. It tastes awful. Maybe I got a bad batch but I doubt it. What's up with that? It was a bad batch. Coffee was much better this morning. Thank goodness, I thought I was discovering my "new" taste buds. Phil, I do buy large tins but it has always been okay storing it in the freezer. Thank you all for carrying me through such a rough time  My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/16/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 57 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,147 Amount Saved: $159.6 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 13 Mins: 53 Seconds: 47

Maybe your taste buds are healed and you are finding out that you really don't like coffee. (????) Did you try a different brand?
