Smoke free for 6weeks now

17 years ago 0 8760 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Malinda, Please consult your pharmacist or physician regarding starting over with Chantix. Your program will now be different as you're already 6 weeks into your quit. Also be sure to work through our online quit program. It will help give you tips & strategies to deal with cravings and other triggers. Keep persevering! Malinda you made the right decision. Stay Strong, you can do this. With 6 weeks behind you, you know it is going to continue to get better. Don't let "addict thinking" cause you to smoke. You said you didn't feel normal anymore and that is definitely addict talk. Believe me I have talked myself out of other quits by saying to myself that being a non-smoker just isn't me. Well, that is BS, that is addict speak so don't listen to it. Hi again, Remember to take the Chantix on a full stomach and immediately drink a 16 ounce glass of water. That's helped me and many others avoid the nausea. Glad you're feeling better! Hi Malinda, 44 days is awesome! You've come so far... You've quit for 44 days for some very imporatant reasons. Are you really willing to give all that up for a cigarette. Do you know that if you smoked a cigarette now you would probably get sick to your stomach because you body has adjusted to not smoking? I'm only into my second day, but I keep reminding myself that I would be DEVASTATED if I gave up the progress and momentum I've achieved so far. I'm also on Chantix. From about day four through day eleven on it, I was extremely cranky and pretty depressed. Still smoked a pack a day. I thought it was because of a number of unrelated stressful, ongoing events happening in my life these days. Now that I've quit smoking, I'm not having the usual incredibly rough withdrawal symptoms. My conclusion is I went throught the physical withdrawal last week WHILE smoking! And now I can quit with just the big psychological factors to deal with. Only my opinion, talk to a doctor, but if you're 44 days in, you're dealing with the psychological stuff now and Chantix isn't going to be of much help? Anyway, I hope you're OK. Please post back and let all these good people help you through this.
