Can I reset my milage?

Hi Need2quit. Glad you are back with those patches and not smoking. I'll echo what others have said - it is your choice about the meter. If you feel you need to turn it back and start over, then do so. If you feel it'll make you feel worse, by discounting the 11 days you had AND you are prepared to learn from it, then keep it as is. What you really need to do now : ANTICIPATE future disagreements with hubby (what marriage DOESN'T have any?) and plan how else you can deal with the situation without smoking. Make a list of things you can do and carry it with you. You can also post here to vent and get support. Keep in mind - your husband probably is feeling a lot of pressure with you quitting. You may not be pushing him to quit, too, but most likely a voice inside his head is saying he should try also. By sabautaging you, he avoids that inner battle. Don't let him. Be a good role model of how good it feels to quit and be free. Then, down the road, maybe he'll join you. Whatever you decide, DON'T SMOKE any more cigs! Hey needtoquit, Don't be so hard on yourself. When you quit is finally successful who cares a few days one way or another. Besides... if the slip is made positive it is to your benefit. All my slips helped me be where I am at now. You Go Girl! Great attitude Mercy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 103 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,076 Amount Saved: $460.41 Life Gained: Days: 13 Hrs: 11 Mins: 6 Seconds: 4

Hi Need2quit! Sad to hear you had a bad day! Husbands can be exasperating sometimes can't they! You have decide for yourself on your meter, some people change it, some don't. Hang in there! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 60 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,513 Amount Saved: $633 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 7 Mins: 20 Seconds: 26

Hey Need2quit, So you slipped. You are not the first, nor the last to do so. Resetting your meter is up to you, but the important thing is to get back to your quit. You can receive as much support from this group of strangers (and there is nobody more strange than some of us) as you can possibly want, and probably a few snappy comebacks for the next time hubby asks you to smoke. Don't give up or be so hard on yourself. You are worth it! Need2quit Don't beat yourself up here! It is hard enough for us to quit, but when you feel you don't have support, it doesn't help. You have a ton of support here and we want to help. Pick up your feet, get back on the horse and lets try again. I found out when I quit, that the only person I could count on for support and help was myself and this wonderful site. That was in the beginning, now that my friends have found out that I am serious they are supporting me just fine. So be strong, things may change. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 64 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,610 Amount Saved: $320 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 19 Mins: 44 Seconds: 27

I'm really upset with myself, I slipped. Alot. I smoked an entire pack yesterday, out of anger at my husband I think, and I usually only smoked 1/2 a pack before I quit. I'm embarrassed at being so weak too. I mean, I know my triggers, I have the nozzle thingy for goodness sake!!!! but I got so sick of not having any support in this, from him and others in the "real world". All week my husband has offered, or asked "want to have a smoke with me?" And all week I said no, you know I'm trying to quit! I felt like he was intentionally trying to sabatoge me, but I held on. After a fight we had yesterday (not related to this) I went to the freezer, grabbed a pack of his, and smoked. I WANT to reset my milage if possible too, because looking at it now just feels wrong. I'm back on the patch today, but so dissappointed.
