Welcome ShortCake! I too went a ways and relapsed, at one point I went 5 months and 1 day: I still think I rewarded myself for 5 months smoke free by smoking one. It led to 4 more years. So congratulations for jumping back on the wagon right away! You sound like you are prepared, and your attitude is very positive. Congratulations for taking the first steps. You do sooo deserve the freedom. Shortcake, Glad to hear you are hanging in there! You've got the positive attitude and lots of support! I don't want to confuse you with adding another Deb to your list of buddies BUT I too am Debbie and live in central Kentucky! Not that far from Aunt Deb or deb740 or you! We should all try to get together one of these days up in Cincy! Wouldn't that be a hoot! You've got an awesome 13 days under your belt!!! You are doing great! Shortcake, Those are great coping strategies! Keep it up and it will get easier. It's just a matter of getting into the habit. You are doing beautifully in the face of these social triggers and may want to consider rewarding yourself for a job well done when you get home. Danielle _______________________ The SSC Support Team

Shortcake, Congratulations on day 8! These triggers will get easier to overcome. Have a plan for when triggers come up. A list of items to complete. Ex: I will chew gum... if that doesn't work I will... Remember, practice makes perfect. It will get easier. Danielle ______________________ The SSC Support Team
