Hi guys! Haven't checked in for a while, but I'm doing great. I still miss smoking sometimes, but in so many other ways I feel like an entirely new man. It's odd but fun. Changing, I am SO GLAD to see you're still here! I had begun to count you among the fallen. Although I'm not here all that much anymore, I think it's good that we all check in like this periodically. I know it helps me to see your messages and remember what we all went through together. There are a few of us still around, and still not smoking! Hope more folks will check in. Nurse 29 is back on her quit also, and from what I gather, she will make it all the way this time. Stay quit, all, and check in occasionally! Cigarettes Not Smoked

Legend, You may know that I had the same fears...boating and fishing and NOT smoking! The first trip was a little hard...having a new boat helped some...didn't want any burn holes in this one. But the same issues and triggers...boredom when the fish aren't biting, celebration for catching the big one (I wish), the leisurely ride back to the dock with a cold beverage... all of the triggers were there. One trigger at a time, my friend, one at a time. I constantly found myself saying "this is when I would have had a cigarette". I had a few little candies with me, and when they were gone, I just had to deal with and dismiss the thought. It wasn't so bad, really. Around our little campfire at night was more difficult...so I just went to bed and "slept it off" so to speak. The second trip was much better! No candies needed! I now have a greater understanding of why it takes one full year...all four seasons...to feel really quit. Each one has its own triggers. You will learn to enjoy your pastime even more! I refuse to let a former addiction rob me of what Sweetheart and I truly enjoy. Have a great time on the water, sans smokes. Take pictures, smell new things, and see it all drug-free for the first time. Nature is more amazing than you know! Let me know how it goes! Nance btw Today is DAY 100 FOR YOU!!! I am so proud of your accomplishment... give your self a special reward, and here's a (((((hug))))) from me! My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/14/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 110 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,300 Amount Saved: $533.50 Life Gained: Days: 15 Hrs: 9 Mins: 7 Seconds: 56

Hi guys, Checking in after a busy weekend. Thoughts of smoking get rarer and rarer, although I did have a couple of days there last week when I kinda really wanted one. Wasn't hard to fight off. I'm about to come up hard against a really big trigger for the first time. I'm not worried about slipping so much as I am worried about losing the enjoyment of a really pleasurable pasttime. Dear me, that junkie mind is clever, trying to make me think I can't enjoy my boat without a smoke? Just writing about it here makes me realize how silly that is. I'll launch it in a couple of days and let you know how fun it was...
