I...quit!

Last Puff Congratulations on your decision to quit. You might want to ask your doctor about Chantix. I am using it and it really helps me. I wish you the best of luck, we know you can do it. Keep coming back here, there is so much support here, its fantastic! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 12 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 250 Amount Saved: $60 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 7 Mins: 50 Seconds: 3

We are all here to help you and talk you though this. My hubby quit 4 days after me, but we live with 2 other smokers so i understand how you feel. It is a bit harder when you have people around you who smoke, but when you are doing this for the right reasons you will find that nothing will stop you from attaining your goal. Good luck and know that it gets easier as the days pass by. Just check in with us often and know that know matter what you feel, someone here has been through it. Hey, congrats!!! This site has been so very instrumental in my quit...this and being totally excited to quit. My husband also smokes, but he smokes very, very little and he promised he would never do it front of me...maybe you could ask your wife to try and support you by not doing it in front of you....kind of like out of site, out of mind. We are here to help ya whenever you need it...stay strong, you can and will do this!!! Welcome Last Puff. Similarly to you, my wife smokes. She doesn't smoke in front of me and is supportive of my effort to quit. However, this does make accesibilty a little easier for us and we have to be extra cautious and on guard. Bottom line though is that it is our choice whether to smoke or not. Staying strong will set an example and maybe help our spouses to quit in the future. I am taking Chantix as well but with just being on my 2nd day I think the others that have more quit time under their belts can give you a better impression of how it is helping. I will tell you in my first day and half I have only had one strong crave. That is not typical of my previous attempts to quit so I am cautiously optimistic that it is going to help. Welcome Last Puff, congrats!! Don't sell yourself short by imposing the need for an NRT. You seem to be very strong, and you have gotten through the hardest day without... Good job with the gym, I have found it to be as helpful as this site is with my quit. It isn't you that is irritable, it is Nic dying inside you tying all of your nerves in knots. He is trying to win you back- DON"T LET HIM!!! Good job on 2 days!! ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/9/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 155 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,245 Amount Saved: $548.7 Life Gained: Days: 10 Hrs: 6 Mins: 49 Seconds: 22

LastPuff - Well Done. Maybe the dog should have an extra long walk tonight! And, you could re-arrange the room where you watch t.v. - so you'll be seeing the t.v. from a new/fresh angle - same way you are looking at your new non-smoking life. Get to bed early with a good book. You can do this! Lastpuff - It's good that you're mindful of this trigger...being home after work. So, what are you going to do? Brainstorm a list of options! Let's hear it!
