Wow Penguin! What awesome commitment you have! Congratulations on going Nekkid and to continuing in your journey to be completely nicotine free! I'm sure going nic free is scary and a bit nerve racking, but the worst is over and you have so much to be proud of! Reward yourself well for this MAJOR accomplishment! Crave the Quit! Yesterday was the first day of my step-down. I went from the 4 mg gum to the two. It was not a nice day, or a pleasant day. For one thing, one of my dogs tore out a claw. There was blood all over the place. There was a vet bill right on top of my own medical bills that I could ill afford. The cravings were on my mind much as they had been in the beginning. Oh oh, I have to go through another hell week. My husband who is all over the whole mess now and seldom thinks of cigs says its because I am using NRT. He might be right, but I think I'm better off with the program than not even if withdrawal is drawn out a little more. I stopped using the patches 3 days ago. It seems like the Demon is dancing on my head....very insistent. My confidence was taking a kicking, I was getting scared, I thought I wanted to give up. Fortunately, having 2 months under my belt gave me some moments of clarity, and I was able to put a stop to the unrelenting hijacking of my thoughts yesterday. As I watched my little guy stuggle to get up the toboggan hill, I realized that I had already made the commitment....to him...and to myself. I came home and reread the Rookery from the beginning and reaffirmed my commitment. I have made the right decision. I do want to be free. I will do what I have done for the past 2 months....give the nicodemon no attention. Had a smoking dream last night. Was smoking as many as I could, as fast as I could it seemed. I was ashamed of myself for giving up. Excellent timing I think. Gonna stay close for awhile. Has anyone seen my shotgun driver...she seems to be MIA?
