Exercise. Exercise. Exercise. Exercise! Do SOMETHING. it's the only way I've found to get through those times. Sweat the nicotine demon from your back! S

April, hope today is a good day for you. Some days, all we can do is hang on by the skin of our teeth - and by the good grace of the other members here. Other days the sun comes back out and it feels FANTATIC to be free. I hope you get the latter today. Hi April, I will give you something to think about. Quitting smoking makes you live longer. Quitting smoking makes you healtier. Quitting smoking makes you skin look better. Quitting smoking makes you smell better. Quitting smoking is a positive thing, you should feel happy. There is nothing to miss and nothing to whine about. Be a happy quitter, it makes you feel better. Enjoy being a non smoker :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 336 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 10,085 Amount Saved: 991.2 Life Gained: Days: 46 Hrs: 18 Mins: 33 Seconds: 37

Don't do it. Smoking won't solve anything. Take a walk...a hot bath...put in an exercise DVD...call a friend...write a letter...clean out your underwear drawer (you know you need too!)...bake a cake...go to the mall...how 'bout a movie...register for a yoga or cooking class...Learn a new craft or hobby: woodworking...leather purses or belts...macrame or knitting...pottery...painting.... Come on...there are LOTS of things to do instead of smoking! April, Kudos to you on overcoming temptation! Probably best not to eliminate caffeine completely. You may find now that you're quit, you'll consume less as your body is no longer able to tolerate such a high level of stimulation produced by caffeine. Keep persevering! April - Please go back and read old posts, and when you have more time, read more of them. The journeys of others led the way for me and so many here. Allow their words to guide you, and they will! Be well and blessings sent... I have had some terrible days. I don't know how I got through some of them. Try the delay and distraction routine that might help. Sometimes I'd just sit and wait it out. It did get easier as time went on. No matter how bad it is. I heard something today and forget where I heard it. The urge to smoke will pass whether or not you have a cigarette. Having a cigarette can only hurt you. You have a cig and what happens, in a while you just want another one. Nothing is accomplished. The first rule of getting out of a pit is stop digging. go for a run ? I know it's probably not what you wanted to hear but you'll be surprised how working up a sweat clears the mind. Any form of exercising works a treat in more ways than one.
