Struggling really Badly

Freemom, I spent so many years like you! I remember trying to quit when I only smoked five cigs a day! And thinking just like you. It's not much, it's not that bad. I'm still healthy. Still healthy was a term that never quite made it to my brain. Still, means for now. The worst was yet to come. I smoked 2 1/2 packs a day when I quit. Every crave I had was a voice in my head telling me to have another cigarette. Including "you are healed of the damage, have a cigarette it won't hurt." freemom....this is the junky come callin'.....dressed in his best and usin' his slickest lines. Makin' just havin' a couple sound SO SO reasonable. open your eyes wide girl, look right at him....he is SUCH a nasty, vile liar. Let me tell you for sure...having a smoke now would be totally insane. You are through the "worst" of the withdrawal....now it's just him, slippin around, trying to look alluring, trying to get you to remember where you "were" in a way that is just a huge lie. as for looking into the future.....well just stop with that.....after all, we aren't guaranteed the future. and remember....today IS the future you were worrying about yesterday....and here you are, conquering it. So there is nothing to be afraid of. it will come and it will pass.....and you will not smoke....cause that is what you will "choose" when that time rolls around. It isn't that you "can't" smoke???? it's that you will simply "choose" not to......and the junky also knows that....her realizes that time is running short for him and he has to get these licks in while he still can....while he still has at least a grain of a chance. So look straight at it...slap hell out of it, shove it to one side and keep climbing. Your big picture is right NOW, cause that is where you ARE. "hold" yourself....."hug" yourself.....look at how you are growing in strength. Cause you ARE growing....becoming what you were destined to be, before nic took over your thinking and actions. Be mad about that....and determine that you will NOT give back that control.....oh yeah, you COULD.....but you "choose" NOT to. so there....bust that junkies chops a good one! You're a winner my friend.....learn to smile and take a bow. that shopping/browsing trip???? those are the things you need to reward yourself with.....and realize that they were possible cause YOU control things now. YOU call the shots....not ole nic. Just keep up the good work.....I promise you it's going to get better. don't look back Katy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/4/2002 Smoke-Free Days: 1878 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 75,143 Amount Saved: $10704.6 Life Gained: Days: 247 Hrs: 18 Mins: 3 Seconds: 5
