strapop, CONGRATULATIONS on staying strong! You're almost past the worst 72 hours of withdrawl. Your hubby sounds like a wonderful and very wise man so hang on to his hand very tightly. You will make it through this with him and all the people here supporting you. Read, read and read some more, do whatever you have to do to not smoke. Hang in there! Strapop: Wow looks like you made it past a difficult one...I know it is anything but pleasant, but you did it and that tells me you can do it again. I don;t know if it helps, but each time I have one of those nasty desires, if I can keep my wits about me, I try to note what I was doing when it visited me. That helps me to understand my triggers better. That sounds a bit clinical and I know when you are in the midst of one of those awful times, being mindful of these things is difficult, but it does work with practice... You will be better in time, you must keep that awareness above all things. It sounds as if you have a wonderful partner, I am so happy that you have made this decision and that you will be able to share your new found life with that person. Stay strong this can be done nonic

You are being very brave. Please hang in there. Use your time on this site as a replacemnt for some of the time you would have spent smoking. It all adds up. You not only survived another day. You came out the winner. Hi strapop - Hold on very tight and make sure to read posts here - and read some more - especially old posts... Those who went before you have shared their journey and it helped me so much - I just can't tell you. It will help you find your way too. This quit journey is tough but you can do it - one moment at a time - one step at a time. Just build up your coping skills, nurture and be kind to yourself and make a list of rewards for yourself (a very important and necessary part of the process!)... Stay close and post often - we're here for you every step of the way!
