anxiety back again

Thanks for all your replies. After chatting to my community psychiatric nurse I seem to have established a pattern, and strange tho' it may be it stems from talking about my ' condition'in a formal situation, a bit like dragging it all up again. I volunteered to take part in a survey for the charity MIND , and met with them earlier in the week, and discussed my treatment and care with them. I also had to discuss it with my boss as I've only just recturned to work and he needed to know what H&S issues might be appropriate. My last panic attack was just after discussing my illness with a pschiatric nurse last September, so there does seem to be a pattern definately. My cpn had breast cancer last year and after being given the all clear volunteered to counsell, but found that she couldn't do it as it was too close, and I think its a bit like that. So I will take on board what most of you have said , don't analyse it too much, or think about the reasons why incessently, and know that recovery does mean blips. I think I have been so anxious to be 100% better that I'd convinced myself that I'd recovered, rather than recovering. So listen to your body saying you're tired, set small goals, and accept the odd set-back, it does not mean that you'll be ill again to the same degree. Thanks everyone, you helped.

Sue, yes this has happened to me, too. I have suffered with this for years, and many times this problem will disapear or take other forms for years and then come back. Don't overanalyze this setback! That's something that I've had to learn. If you sit around and think and wonder and try to figure out why it happened, it just comsumes your mind more and more. Accept that it happened and you don't know why, that's so hard to do for me! I want to know WHY, and HOW, and WHAT I can do to prevent it from happening again! Let it go and it will go! It always does!

Dear Sue I know exacly how you feel because I am going through the same thing. I thought I had my anxiety under control and it reared its ugly head. I had to increase my medication. The one thing I know it will pass in time. The question is will it be a short or a long time. My experience has been anxiety leaves gradually and one day it disappears. I was hospitalized for anxiety and depression about ten years ago and that was what I was told. Please respond back. :)

Yes Sue, I think just about everyone in here has experienced a set back before. Mine crept up on me 3-4 weeks ago. I haven't felt particularly stressed or out of the ordinary but when my therapist told me to tell him everything that had been going on in my life in the past several months his reply was, "It certainly sounds like things HAVE been rather stressful for you." I guess we all interpret stress differently and sometimes we think we are handling things ok, when it reality our bodies are telling us otherwise. Do you see a doctor at all about your problem? Dear Sue, We all expereince some set backs in our lives. I would suggest you let your Doctor know what has been happening. Continue to use the Panic Program and the support group, we are here for you. Susanne

I was ill last year with panic and anxiety attacks but have been well now for some time, and then out of no-where my stamach has started to tie itself in knots and I can't seem to get a grip. Has anybody else experienced the same ? I don't feel particularly stressed about anything, nor worried, I can't think of anything specific that has upset me, so I'm really confused as to why I should now be feeling anxious, I thought it was all behind me. I've returned to work, taken up some hobbies I've let slide, maybe I've overdone it a bit ? Does anyone else have such ' blips', and if so, what do you do ?
