Having one of those days...

17 years ago 0 985 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Well that exhaustion has now passed. :) Did exactly what I said I'd do - lots of rest and relaxation.. napping in the afternoons, and not taking on so many tasks in one day! I thought I was pacing myself over the last month or so but clearly I wasn't and it all just caught up with me big time. I did have a major crave at mid day - I know what caused it, worked through it and survived ! :) More lifestyle changes are now in place and overall today was one of the better days I've had in the past 5 *BIG SMILE* Thanks everyone for your input and hope you're all having a super weekend ! Hey Jan.. thanks so much! And you were actually one of the people I kept thinking about who takes naps regularly and thought I should be following in your footsteps! These naps are so refreshing and much needed to help restore oneself both emotionally and physically :) You have a great quit going girl and I'm so proud of you ! Love and hugs sweetie, Monica My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/12/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 43 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 875 Amount Saved: $387 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 22 Mins: 6 Seconds: 29

Hey Monica -- I feel for you; I've been having the very same problems. I'm sure it has to do with winter's last gasp of desperation... I hope you will find time to breathe, walk, and drink water --- you'll recall as clearly as I do that there's nothing quite so wonderful as waking up and remembering that as nasty as yesterday and last night were, we did not cave; we are waking up one more day smoke-free, which lately seems to be its own reward... as least for me. I hope for you, too. peteg My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/30/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 115 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,769 Amount Saved: $632.5 Life Gained: Days: 21 Hrs: 1 Mins: 40 Seconds: 26

Hi Monica Hope you are feeling better........I'm having one of those days too...Although I'm not craving a cigarette...I'm craving a little comfort (and I already used up more than my alotted share of calories for today). I wonder if perhaps we do have a touch of the winter blues. You have had so much on your plate and you have done amazingly well with your quit. Guess these "off" days will always come our way. ((((HUGS)))) Monica, I'm so glad you've made it over this hurdle. It can be tough sledding sometimes, but its nice to know we have enough strength to survive the cravings. Take your time and rest as you need it. I would say that 4 out of 7 afternoons find me taking a nap if I need it. Keep going strong Monica. You're resolve is fantastic. All the best to you, Cheers, Jan My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/13/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 42 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,283 Amount Saved: $378 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 19 Mins: 23 Seconds: 57

Monica, The winter blahs can really hit home sometimes. I'm so proud of you for what you've accomplished. Maybe during this down period, some extra rest is needed. Have you rewarded yourself lately? Sometimes it takes going back to one hour at a time. Thinking of you, and sending off a little prayer during this difficult time you're having. Remember, it does get better. Smile :) and life seems a little brighter. Dear Monica, Hold on and take a deep breath. I know exactly how you feel, over the last 6 weeks I have gonoe from ball of fire around the house to a smoldering pile of ashes. Just started a walking routine and hopefully that will, boost my attitude and metabolism, for not only more energy but maybe a few pounds weight loss. I think we get so involved in fighting the cravings mentally that after a week or so we just collapse. You must recharge and start taking care of YOU! If a nap is what you need take it, if a snack if what you need get it, if a good cry will help let it flow girl! You are such a motivator to so many of us here, and the computer graphics is absolutely amazing. Stay the course and you will feel better soon! I am cheering for you today... Who took that picture of me sprawled across my desk? Haha! Time for a little reward, I do believe. Some sinfully forbidden food, a nice long soak in the tub, a haircut, a book from the library you want to read, a brisk walk around the block---it's a beautiful day! Tutti, Wow! I must applaud you on your commitment! You are sure to benefit from all that hard work. The lower your sugar, the less damage being done to your body and less insulin. That is something to smile about! Keep up the great effort! Danielle _____________________ The SSC Support Team
