Hanging In There

Tutti, You've received some great advice from your fellow quitters. You said it yourself, you would be down right mad at yourself for lighting up. Kudos to you on resisting temptation. Time for a reward! Danielle ________________________ The SSC Support Team

For some reason an entire sentence that I put in the above post didn't show up. A customer left me a cigarette for when things got really bad. He left it on the table and for a few days it sat there because I wouldn't touch it and neither would my husband. I knew if I touched it, I'd smoke it. It is really hard. I posted about a customer who felt sorry for me in quitting and left just one cigarette on the table for when I really felt bad. I have not touched it because I know if I did, I would smoke it. i am incredibly weak so I draw the line waaaayyyyyy out there. If I found a pack, I wouldn't touch it. If I touched it, I'd open it, if I opened it, the whole thing would be gone in a couple of hours, if I lived long enough to smoke 'em. My husband refused to touch it either, so we sucked it up in the vacuum cleaner to be tossed with the bag of dust. A fitting end, into the dustbin wid ye! So, double kudos to you for resisting the pack. I hope your hubby gets rid of it and doesn't get any more. Go directly to your tap/fawcet and dunk them straight away. Your husband will understand. It's hard honey but you'll get through. Well done for coming here first. Remember you haven't slipped yet and just hang in there - you're already succeeding here. I posted on your other thread...please read it because we suffer the same awful mental anguish and I have a wait to fight with the evil feelings. I have on a number of occasions had to pull out some whoopa** on my own mind! geesh! You another thing that might help....I never drank tea before but I bought some Earl Grey and some other kind of "breakfast tea" and when sit on the sofa all curled up holding my cup in both hands it is so nice and comforting it allows my time to send some "good" self talk up to my brain because I am relaxed and thinking rationally. I know it sounds corney but REALLY, if I can over come my mind you can overcome yours too!!!! ;p
