I must have been one of the lucky ones. My doc put me on wellbutrin before I quit, when my quit date came around he asked if I had cut back on the smoking to which I did. Put me on the 14mg for two weeks went back to see him and told me to just go with the wellbutrin. Tada it worked. Hi P.Butterfly, I use the patch, it was what my Dr recommended. He told me to follow the directions just like you would follow the directions of a prescription he would write for me. That is what I did. When I took the final 7mg off I had three or four days of something. I don't think it was cravings, I was just emotional. The 70 days days gave me time to trust myself with the habit. Stay as busy as you can, especially your hands. I used several things, toothpicks, straw, rubber bands, ice water, peppermint candy, and brushed my teeth several times a day. Stay strong, and congratulations on your decision to quit smoking... Platinum, The patch program exists for a reason, to help you gradually come down. If you are thinking of skipping a few steps or dosages, please talk to your doctor and pharmacist to help you with more information requiring the program you are on :) Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
