Think Gas is a side affect?

17 years ago 0 420 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Okay... yesterday I was fine. Today I ate cashews again. Note to self: Stay away from cashews. My advice is gradually take away something one thing at a time, and maybe you will find one particular thing that causes it. I didn't have this problem with cashews before, but everything is changing, so apparently, I need to leave the cashews for someone else! Hey Tutti, Your posts are making me laugh. I especially like the one about scaring your husband. What I've noticed is there is no gas that you can let slip and go unnoticed. The smell is too deadly. lol Regarding sugarfree products... yes, I knew that. I don't even drink diet sodas for that reason. Whatever they put in that stuff is gaseous -- literally! I read the excessive gas thread and laughed my head off! I also have the problem, Marie, and I agree with the others... the quality... OMG - it's disgusting! I didn't think it had anything to do with not smoking. It didn't start until after 2 or 3 weeks. My acid reflux has bothered me more, as well. I've also been thankful I haven't had to get on a plane lately. Oh my! Any other new stinkers out there? I wonder how long we can expect this to last! I also wonder if the gas-x or bean-no help. All I can say is I've been thankful that I live alone the past couple of weeks! Couldn't smoke if I wanted to... if I lit a match or lighter anywhere I've been, it would blow up. I imagine there is an invisible fog following me around. Hi Everyone!! I haven't posted for a while and am happy to find this hilarious and honest thread!! I thought it was the lozenges causing this "methane madness" and I resigned myself to it, knowing I'd be off the lozenges soon and the gas problems would be gone, too. But I'm reading from members who are over 100 days into their quits and they still have gas, and some of them weren't even using NRT's!!?! Well, that's just great!! So, there's no "tried and true" way to stop this, eh? No NRT suppositories or anything like that, perhaps? We can expect this sort of "bowel behavior" for a minimum of 3 months...is that what I'm reading here in the threads? The fun never ends!! ;p My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/23/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 58 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,320 Amount Saved: $220.4 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 19 Mins: 12 Seconds: 22

I'm with you Kiwi - I've enjoyed myself. I could clear out a crowded isle in the supermarket with no trouble! But alas, approaching day 60 and they seem to be subsiding. It was fun while it lasted, though. -- 2tone My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/26/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 56 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,591 Amount Saved: $308 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 8 Mins: 5 Seconds: 55
