Interesting: Where's your quit meter? It's such fun to watch it each day. How is today going for you -- better? Remember, "Not a Chance"! Keep the faith and keep the quit. Interesting: Congratulations! You're off to a great start! Your attitude is so good and so positive. I really believe that your attitude, your mindset going into and during your quit is the most important element of being successful. Keep that same good mindset you have and you'll be just fine. Way to go on day 1! Day 2 comin' up! Keep the faith. Keep that sunshine. Really. And you should know, some of us have had increased trouble sleeping for a time after quitting smoking. This may or may not be the case for you. Feel free to jump on the site at that time if warm milk doesn't help. Way to go, Interesting! Nothing like enjoying the Fabulous Fifties smoke free. The renewed exercise will show you immediate results; I'm just glad I'm not in Denver -- that's a little more exercise than I had in mind!! peteg My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/30/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 62 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,146 Amount Saved: $341 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 0 Mins: 22 Seconds: 37

Way to go, Interesting! I'm glad you are taking it easy on yourself these first few days/weeks. Your body will need extra rest for a while because its working so incredibly hard to rid itself of years and years of toxins. Don't forget to plan a nice reward or two real soon! Keep up the strong quit!!!! Hello Interesting - I guess our body is detoxifying (Great thing is that we can and should drink LOTS of water) Honestly, Interesting - I would not worry one bit about using the gum....I think that people just naturally reduce the amount that they use. It would be better to use the gum as long as you need to rather than lose your quit. I used patches and was not completely nicotine free until around Day 60. My appetite really increased as soon as the nicotine was out of my system. It's great if your body works the opposite way (and you don't get the munchies!) You are doing very well.......good for you! Hello Interesting and congratulations on Day 2! You are doing much better than I did those first few days........Good for you! The last time I coughed was about 100 days ago! Wooohooo! The first three months my primary concern was quitting......now my next goal is fitness! I am going to bed earlier and waking up earlier (so I'm going to try to fit the gym in AT LEAST four times a week in the morning) It feels great to have my lungs back! Keep up the great work! Interesting, Glad you're feeling better. Don't feel be hard on yourself for using NRT's. Many on this site have and it has helped them keep quit. You may be drinking more water for many reasons. Every quit is different. You may not notice an increase in appetite until you stop using your NRT as nicotine is an appetite supressant. If you do gain weight, remember that it is temporary and you can always work on it when you are more secure in your quit. Keep persevering! You're doing great!
