Xray, Day 5 for me, as well. Smoked steadily for 30 years, but picked up my first cigarette 36 years ago. Here's to the next 30 years, smoke-free! Hi Yep Me too 5th day, I've been drawing strengh on your chats here, it aint been easy I wish to add, but I've come this far & I'm not going back. 33 years of smoking this is the first time Ive attemped to quit, & I'm a bit frightened of whats a round the corner for us, But at least we are in this together, that is what keeps me going - knowing your all by my side going through what I'm going through (Thanks for being there) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 5 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 102 Amount Saved: 22.5 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 19 Mins: 13 Seconds: 56

XRay: 47 years is a very, very long time to smoke. Kind of feel like maybe you've dodged some major bullets, huh? 35 years for me and you're right, it is very hard. But I can tell you that you will never be prouder of anything else you've ever done. WE know how hard it is -- that's why we're all here. The support you get from others going through exactly the same hell is priceless. So are you -- priceless and worth the fight. Keep the faith -- and your quit. Welcome xray and congrats on quitting smoking. I know it's hard for you right now, but be strong. Your fighting an addiction. What are your reasons for quitting? What are some coping mechanisms you have in place to distract you from smoking? Glad you are here...read lot's and post often.
