Time to pick myself back up

Sharon, We will always be here to help you... no matter how many times it takes for you to get it right. It has taken MANY of us, myself included, many many many many many times to get it right, so don't feel like you're alone on this one because you're not. The thing to do right now is to make a plan. It should start with "when I am about to smoke, I must..." And then put at least 3 things in there that you will do before you smoke. Some suggestions are read your reasons for quitting 10 times, stare at your pictures of your children's faces for 1 minute while you think about what your smoking is doing to them, post here and wait for 10 replies, email/IM a quit buddy, call a friend who supports your quit, etc... These things will give you enough time to think "WHAT AM I DOING?!?!?!" And sometimes, that few minutes is all it takes for you to come to your senses. It only takes a second to light that cigarette, but it could take a lifetime to get back the desire to quit again. So come up with a plan and stick to it the next time you want to cave. And we are ALWAYS here to help you! Welcome back. Crave the Quit! Sharon, Learn from this experience and keep going! What led to it? What alternatives did you have in place to keep you from going back to smoking? Were you rewarding yourself? Dust yourself off and try again. This is a hard skill to learn and only practice makes perfect. Danielle _______________________ The SSC Support Team

Sharon- One thing you have to be is ready... Ready to build some coping skills, ready to fight for your Quit... Ready to ask for help BEFORE LIGHTING UP... Ready to spend hours and hours here reading old posts and following those who went before you and left a map of how to get to the successful Quit! It's up to you, friend. Is your desire to quit stronger than your desire to smoke? You ready?
