Welcmoe Daytime Mommy, Congrats on your decision to try quitting again. I believe for some, practice makes perfect. This is my fifth quit, and my longest one thanks to the support and advice in the SSC. It truley is wonderful. I'm using the patches, so I don't know much about cold turkey, but many have been very successful going cold turkey. I'm sure you will get tons of advice. Good luck tomorrow.....keep us posted on how your doing, and remember NOPE!!! Hello daytime, I believe that you must be mentally prepared for the life changing journey that we are about to begin,so take some time this weekend and read and post and work the work book. Come MOnday morning I will be checking in on you as I will need a buddy. I have also been cutting down this week, started the Wellbutrin almost 2 weeks ago and will be modeling my new patch on MOnday morning with pride. Get all of you mints, carrot sticks or whatever method you intend to use this weekend and be ready for the ride of a lifetime. Looking forward to walking the smokefree path with you in the upcoming weeks and months. There are a lot of successful cold-turkeys on this site and a wealth of knowledge and information. Take a look around, search messages and work the program on the left. You can do it! Welcome, you have found all the help you will ever need. I quit cold turkey this time. In the past I used NRT and found that they were not a good choice for me. Cold turkey is a lot easier. Just understand that your mind and body are going to go though some changes. After the first few days the nicitine will be gone. Work on changing your thoughts. Think of yourself as a non-smoker. Work the tool on the left, drink lots of water, go for walks, come here and read. Change your normal smoke time to something fun and worthwhile. Get lots of rest. You will be fine. Just don't smoke. daytime mommy - welcome... Change trying to doing, friend - it's strong and more powerful :) This is the place to find the support, guidance and coping skills. Read old posts - alot of them... If your desire to quit is stronger than your desire to smoke, the rest will work out... Hi Daytime, Welcome to SSC, and congratulations on your decision to quit. I have tried just about every stop smoking method there is, and they all worked until the next cigarette !! This time I went Cold turkey and it has worked very well. Sure the first few days are horrible but you get them over and done with and then get on with life. I found that it helped me enormously to have support people around me during those first days. I quit on a Friday so I had the weekend with family and then my teenage son accompanied me on a business trip for the next three days. I didn't have to lean on them, I just knew that I couldn't let them down and I couldn't sneak a cigarette even if I wanted to. I would just advise that you keep yourself busy and try not to focus on the missing part of you day which will be your cigarettes. If I can help you at all, please don't hesitate to contact me here or on the instant messenger. now do your homework, and I wish you every success for Monday. Cheers KiwiKeith My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/29/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 106 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,657 Amount Saved: $1229.6 Life Gained: Days: 15 Hrs: 22 Mins: 39 Seconds: 30

Mommy, Welcome to our support community and let's get you started! Every quit is different so your body will also react differently. Take the time to prepare. Get coping mechanisms ready and use activities, hobbies and even chores to keep you busy. This will help you push through those tough days and keep you going. We are always here for support and knowledge, so please post often :) Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
