Imallclear... Congratulations on one month quit! That is Awesome.
Now... pull up a chair and let's have a little chit chat here. I hope you don't mind but I'm going to be blunt. First of all... it doesn't matter how many days you have made it in the past because that is over and gone. You cannot change it. It is time to move forward. This time is different. This time you are NOT going to smoke. You have learned from the past.
Second, yes some quitters experience what I called the 30 day pit. You just kind of fall in and it is really hard to climb back out. Avoid the pit at all costs. If you do so happen to fall in, look around and you will see a lot of other quitters traveling with you dropping ropes for you to grab a hold of and climb on out. You grab that rope, hang on tight an dpull yourself out of the pit and get going down the road again.
Third, rewards are extremely important. It took me a while to learn this and other memebers had to tell me what did and did not count as a reward. For example, as a reward I bought new rugs for the dinning room and took the kids to the mall and bought each of them something. NOPE that wasn't a reward. It has to be something for you. Starbucks, bubble bath, trip to the movies, dinner out... something that you do because you have quit smoking and you deserve it. You set up goals and you do this. It is important and you begin living for those next rewards. I took a trip to the mountains and cruise for to celebrate my one year anniversary. I held on to my quit many days in order to be able to enjoy those rewards. The little rewards make you feel better too. You deserve them because quitting is hard and you are doing it!
OK... I know, I've been yakking away here but I just had to share this information with you. Things I learned the hard way and hopefully this will help you.
Congratulations again on your continued success. This is an amazing journey. Enjoy it. The quit is soooooo worth it!
