Good job, Spike; you most definitely can do this if you have the will to. It comes down to finding and keeping the will. Happy New Year.

Well Spike - I do believe you are feeling just the way you are supposed to be feeling. Have you prepared your tools to help you get through the difficult days? If not, perhaps you would like to use the tools offered on this site.
It DOES get better.....but it takes time.....keep on going one day at a time.

Hi Spikearoo,
A bit of patience in your first couple of days! You may feel a little bit pants at first! ;)
Gather your resolve - allow your quit meter to start climbing and the resolve will become stronger and stronger. Keep yourself double-busy, distract your mind from those nasty smoking thoughts. This is the chemicals from tobacco leaving your body that is making you feel bad - don't let the addiction tell you what to do. You want to quit, right? Then do it!
We'll be right here if you need us...

Spike,
Do you have a reward system in place? Rewards are very important, especially in the begining of the quit... when you feel like crap. Plus, rewards are the best part of quitting! You deserve to reward yourself because you are doing something so wonderful for your body! Be good to yourself right now. Take it easy and relax as much as possible. And also give yourself a little something for your hard work. Rewards don't have to be expensive, but they SHOULD be things that you will like and enjoy. And when you're having a really tough craving? Coming up with a rewards plan for major milestones such as 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, etc... is a GREAT crave buster! It gets your mind off of smoking and gives you something to look forward to. And how can you smoke when you're coming up with a list of rewards for yourself for not smoking? So be good to yourself right now and just take it one day at a time. Congrats on 1 whole day! Welcome to the site.
Crave the Quit!

how are you doing this morning? I woke up to a new day. I have a choice I can smoke or I can choose not to smoke. Guess what my choice is? That's right I choose not to smoke. How about you? It is so worth it not to pick up.
Here are some of things I enjoy about not smoking:
Breathing
Self-respect
Freedom
Smelling sooooooooooooooooooo good :eg:
There are more, now you can start adding to your own list.
Wishing the best for you.
