Jess, Yes holidays can be a drag. Look on the brightside, you get a whole day to yourself! Bothered by no one and can do as you please. Take advantage! It's okay to be sad sometimes. Let it out, deal with it and move on. Danielle _______________________ The SSC Support Team

Hi Jess... It's tough - quitting and the holidays... stay busy and stay close to this site... And wrap yourself in your gentle love and compassion and celebrate the gift you are giving yourself in staying quit. We're all right here with you, friend. Holidays can be very difficult whether or not you are quitting smoking. This happens nearly every year to both my husband and I...we both had parents who passed away during the holidays. We have to plan ahead so that we aren't caught being sad and blue. One year we went to a movie on Christmas...it was amazing how many people were there! Last year on Thanksgiving I competed in a local 5k walking race and then I came home and took a nap. Whatever you like to do, make it YOUR day to do whatever you please. Just remember...smoking will not make you have instant companions. It will only make you mad at yourself. Jess.....the addict in you LOVES for you to get down and start with the self pity thing...It opens wide the door for him to take over your thinking...and once that is accomplished, he will light up for you. See this for what it is....you had sad and blue WITH cigarettes...and they did NOT help it.....they are just now TELLING you that they did! it's a lie....a big FAT LIE. Get moving....either find someone to do something nice FOR...or do something nice for yourSELF. Either act is positive and either one will take the power away from this type of thinking. You must fight back... hugs....and happy turkey day Katy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/4/2002 Smoke-Free Days: 1784 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 71,375 Amount Saved: $10168.8 Life Gained: Days: 232 Hrs: 17 Mins: 58 Seconds: 42
