Hey teenangel, I'm also glad you're "of a certain age" to enjoy that glass of wine; just be careful, though, that it doesn't trick you into thinking you're far enough along to have one teeny puff off someone else's cigarette; you're not, and never will be. None of us will ever be that far along. That's the only thing that makes me nervous about wine -- but staying nervous is sometimes all it takes to stay clean. peteg My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/30/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 30 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,519 Amount Saved: $165 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 7 Mins: 37 Seconds: 5

Welcome to SCC....You must be one very old teenager???? I have been off patches for almost a week...Come to think of it, no smoking dreams anymore either...hmmmm I wish we had a group in my community too but SCC has been great because it's always here. Wouldn't it be awesome if there was a quick and easy fix - but then perhaps it would be too easy to give up our quits. Once we get through those first few weeks, we really don't want to do them again! All the best to you! Hi Teen, So glad to see that you are coming to post here regularly. This place has been a real help to me in my quit and posting regularly allows you to vent or ask for help as often as you want. I remember the ups and downs of the first couple of weeks. This is completely normal - bloomin difficult, yes - but completely normal! You will feel much better soon, I'm sure. Just keep on going. Looks like you are doing very well. You have a fine quit going there! Well done! Hi mate 24 hour patches...... They have a known possible side effect of giving you nightmares. I tried them and had to stop due to the lack of sleep and the terrible dreams and go to the 16 hour variety much better! I was on 20 a day for 50 years and was fine onthe 15mg 16 hour patches.. IT DOES get better but you cant rush it every quit is different..... Good luck Phil My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 111 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,340 Amount Saved: 582.75 Life Gained: Days: 22 Hrs: 23 Mins: 51 Seconds: 8

Hi teen, I was on the 24hr patches - didn't suffer nightmares, but sleep deprivation affected me for many weeks! But .. that will go and believe me IT IS SO WORTH IT!!! More up and down days to come, but hang on in there and you will be fine! Teen, Welcome and congratulations on such great success! Day 17 is amazing and yes it will get better! What are you doing to occupy yourself? Starting activities and hobbies can help you push forward and keep your mind off those cravings. Post often and share your success and continue to lean on your support avenues to assist you in every way. Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
