Ok I am now on day 5 with Zyban and so far so good. I have stopped smoking about 4 times in the last two years all for around 30 days using cold turkey. Anyone got any ideas to get me over the 30 day barrier???
Cheers
Tim

My advice - One day at a time....sometimes we have to take out our survival tools at certain stages (so don't put them too far away). Each phase will pass....and we are all here to help you through it!

Timbo,
Welcome! First off, you're not alone! The 30 day mark seems to be a very common problem for most quitters. I first "slipped" on day 34 of my quit, so just know that it's not just you.
Second, the BEST way to get past the 30 day mark and any other rough time is with rewards. If you haven't already, I suggest you go through the program at the left of your screen. That program will help you set up a reward system. When we go for a while without smoking, our brain starts thinking "HEY! I need a reward!!!" And the "normal" reward we used to give was a cigarette, so that's what it wants. So you have to "reward" your brain with things other than cigarettes.
Best wishes to you! Welcome to the SSC!
Crave the Quit!
Pam

Glad you have joined us and welcome! Perhaps the Zyban itself will help you over the 30 day bump in the road! Read, post often and work the program to the left. Very helpful info. :)

Tim,
You are doing great! First take a look at what caused you to relapse after those 30 days or so. You can prepare for this and set yourself up to succeed!
Get ready and let us walk you though :)
Keep Strong,
Josie
