I would love to give you THE ANSWER but it seems like it has all been said from the other "quiters". My problem is that they agreed to this before they decided they couldn't hang with the tough chick! So, if they quit and you didn't then I wonder if they would be bustin' your chops about smoking in the house. Do you have a garage they could smoke in? Or better yet sleep in? Naw just kiddin. Truth be told though they are jealous. Is it possible to joke about it with them? Like, "What's the matter? Can't hang with the big dogs?" Just a thought

Holygeez, My dad lived with me when I quit and he is a smoker. Even when I smoked I didn't do it int the house. My father continued to go to the deck to smoke but left the door open and it seemed the smoke would blow straight to me no matter where I was in the house. He would make smart comments like "Oh! Guess I'll go smoke now". This was very difficult for me and I found myself becoming resentful of him because he could smoke and I couldn't. I had to put my quit into perspective and see that I had chosen not to smoke any longer. He did not make that choice. I could go ahead and smoke if I wanted to but I choose not to. I had to learn to ignore comments and not resent his smoking. I would come in here and scream a lot because the smell would make me crave. Try your best to ignore their remarks. Continue to save your smoking money. That is awesome and you deserve it. They will adjust. You have a right to a smoke free home. Continue on with your successful quit. As smokers, they are jelous whether they admit it or not. If all else fails, just stick a fork in their eyes :p Hang in there and come here to vent anytime! Hi Trace, That is a tough situation to be in. My first reaction to that i want to go and kick their Butts and make them see some sense. They seem so unfair and unreasonable !! I guess that you have to live with it, and that is unfair too !! You can only talk with them and try to reach a solution or compromise failing this hide all the sharp objects and offensive weapons that may be around your house as with your fiery side you could end up on a murder charge :P Sorry Trace, I can't think of anything else. If they wont cooperate there seems little that can be done. You will just hvae to rely on all of us for your support, and believe me we have plenty of that for you. Good Luck. Hello Trace, I belive I know where Your coming from, and my heart goes out to You, But Friend, it sounds like You are listening to the wrong people or friends in Your surroundings, and letting them dominate Your journey, The Day You quit smoking those cigerettes, that is Your baby from then on, for You only lead the rest of Your family by example, don't tell them to come along with You, I've been quit for 4 years now, and my Wife still smokes in Our household, I know second hand smoke is not good for Ya, but You can't lead someone else's life for them, Only do it by Your example, I can only tell You, because I've been there, make this Stop Smoking Center Your home in the coming months, All You need to quit, Is a good Motivation, and a great Positive Attitude, Guess in away, I'm a little like You, You mentioned You like to look at the light and fluffy side of life, I have also became that way since my quit, I think my view is since quitting, You start loveing Yourself more, and rubs off on others, even tho they might have a flaw in there life like smoking, but, be happy Trace, do what Your own heart tell's You, Just remember, that quote on the side of those cigerette packs, ''Dangerous to Your Health,''' Believe It, So Friend, Grit Your Teeth, Get The Eye of the Tiger, And You take Control of Your journey, I'll be around, Smokless In Oklahoma, :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/10/2003 Smoke-Free Days: 1419 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 42,584 Amount Saved: $6073.32 Life Gained: Days: 322 Hrs: 18 Mins: 46 Seconds: 13

here's the scoop....they ARE threatened by your quit....see they couldn't cut it....YOU did! That is a constant reminder to them of their weakness. Be really careful here how you handle this....cause in reality YOU are the one in control....they lost the control when they picked the smokes back up. The things you mention, the money you save???? it just puts fuel on the fire of failure that is burning their butts. Of course you can't tell them this....they are drug addicts with the drug in hand...they are NOT going to listen. Remember these things....a quit is "personal"....your quit does not depend on anyone but YOU to care for it. It really doesn't matter if they smoke, if they rail out at you, if they falsely accuse you...whatever....it doesn't matter....whether you make it or not will depend just on YOU. Gently you may be able to remind them that the smoke free home was to be for the benefit of the people quitting (which was all of you then)...and there is still a quitter....and that quitter still deserves some smoke free space. you have to remain stubborn on this but calm and NOT accusing toward them. after all...they are at present helpless addicts....you come HERE and talk about them....don't stir that pot at home. I wish you luck and send you determination....I quit with a smoking family...and some of them were smart asses for a spell....later? all of them quit smoking....so YOU are an example for them, whether you realize it or not. Handle yourself accordingly Katy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/4/2002 Smoke-Free Days: 1849 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 73,982 Amount Saved: $10539.3 Life Gained: Days: 243 Hrs: 22 Mins: 9 Seconds: 23
