You truly are a nut! Golly...you must be a blast at a party! I know, you're the one with the lampshade on your head sober...... AFLAC................LOl..............Now you will have to explain that to the Canadians and Europeans..........LOL! :) I already got myself in trouble with the UK over some clotted cornish game hens (don't ask---It's some sort of traditional dish, I think). I believe Lolly turned me into the ASPCA over that one! :) Tomorrow you will have one week!!!!! Did ya ever think ya had it in ya? CONGRATULATIONS! Tell me about it! I was a three pack a day smoker for 34 years. The first few weeks are physically exhausting from fighting the urge. Those demonic possession craves become less frequent as your quit goes on. Now, I get them every once in awhile, but it IS getting better. Hang on............ Go off by yourself, scream, curse, punch a pillow, tear paper into small shreds, bite your steering wheel, WHATEVER!!! You're doing fine! Everyone is different. But in my opinion, attitude and perspective makes a HUGE difference in how long people struggle with their quits and with cravings. For me, my cravings, not to be confused with triggers/smoking thoughts, disappeared around 21 days. I quit struggling with craves when I realized it was more of a conscious choice than something that just happens. Tearing off the patch and getting the nicotine fully out of my system helped me as well in my opinion. I found that the more I educated myself regarding nicotine addiction and how it effected my mind and body, the easier it was to have a positive attitude and perspective, which in turn made my cravings easier to kick, which in turn made my overall journey a lot happier. I also refused to blame smoking for everything and I listened to the directors of this site when they told me that smoking masks underlying problems. Whenever a problem surfaced, I faced them head on without stopping to blame it on cigarettes, because in doing so, in my opinion, that would waste time and promote inaction. It also detours the brain from getting busy on fixing the issue because it is caught up in the blame game. Whenever I wish to help, I end up rambling. Sorry. *laughs at self* Fondly, Free My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/12/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 182 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,475 Amount Saved: $728 Life Gained: Days: 15 Hrs: 8 Mins: 29 Seconds: 17

I remember saying exactly the same thing to my wife. I think we all get to a stage where we are just tired of the constant battle. Then a day came when I realised...hey I havn't been battling like I used to. When that day comes it is sooooo wonderful. I'ts like winning a war but not realising you have done it !! Please Dunedad, hang tough, that day is getting closer all the time.
