Welcome Candi!
I am so sorry to hear about your dad. Unfortunately, that is what smoking does. We just never think it will happen to us. And many just give up on themselves and continue to smoke.
However, their illness is not entirely about them. Sure, they have the illness, but it is us who have to take care of them. Just like one of your baby boys. Same thing ~ except it is the one who raised you once..........
Keep remembering that one day, one of your kids will be seeing you take your last breath. That is, if you do not quit smoking.
It is an awesome Christmas present you are giving yourself and your family! Make this the first (in a long time) smoke-free Christmas!!
I too smoked while pregnant. If I could slap myself I would. I never realized what is took to quit, and you know what? It's not that bad. It is doable! I wish I did this 8 years ago!!! But at least I am doing it now, that is what matters.
Stay strong, and stay close by. We will help you and guide you through anything! Make sure your coping mechanisms are handy, as you will be going through a bumpy ride. Hang on tight, and just let it be what it is. Don't fight it, just embrace it. It is a wonderful thing to be smoke free!!!!!!!!!
