Tennielle, Day 11-12 were very tough for me. I second-guessed myself all over the place. Don't do that. Don't look back-don't look ahead. Stay focused right here. You sure don't want to throw away the hard work you've done in the past 12 days, do you? Please believe me..things will be brighter during the next couple of days. You can't gradually quit. It just doesn't work that way. If you keep putting the drug into your system, you will keep going through withdrawals. The only way to get through to the other side is one step at a time, one hour at a time, one day at a time. Please hang with it...stay close by this site...holler out if you need help. Quit looking at the meter....quit thinking about forever....just make the "choice" as you go to NOT have the next smoke. This isn't a life "sentence" that is going to slowly drag the life out of you. This is a "choice". You can't gradually quit, cause you can't "bargin" with an addiction. ANY addiction. You have to LEAVE them in the dust. Yes, it is hard and if you let yourself dwell on it, it's also scarey. Don't allow yourself to go there. When you let the addiction creep into taking over your thinking, that is when the trouble starts. Flee the thoughts.....learn to distract yourself. Not smoking is an "as you go" thing. Please be good to yourself....do some things you enjoy....things that you might tend to put off?? Learn to relax in yourSELF....freely...there will in the end be much more relaxation withOUT the nicotine. It's a stresser in itself You are doin fantastic....don't overanalyze it. :) Katy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/4/2002 Smoke-Free Days: 1780 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 71,235 Amount Saved: $10146 Life Gained: Days: 232 Hrs: 6 Mins: 58 Seconds: 33
