There are a number of us here who are using Chantix and it is pretty amazing. But remember to stay on your guard. Even with Chantix you can suddenly be hit with a really strong craving and the "demon" can try to get into your head. So... be prepared, have inspirational thoughts, gum, straws, sucking candies, etc on hand and use these boards for help and support as often as you need to. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/29/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 9 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 119 Amount Saved: $36.72 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 22 Mins: 3 Seconds: 56

mjbsuns, Welcome...and congratulations for continuing to be a Non-Smoker! Chantix user here as well. Best product I ever used to quit. A grandma, 56, 2 1/2 pack a day smoker for 30+ years. quit once cold-turkey for 10 yr,,,went back like a fool after a divorce and during the beginning of menopause. If they had had Chantix then, and I would have known then what I know now about smoking and its effect on masking depression and other psychological issues....I wouldn't be on this site. I would be a 25 year Non-Smoker!!! So glad you found our site...tons of information here for you and maybe some of your friends who might want to quit but are afraid. keep the quit and join us often in posting or commenting with your imput. auntdeb :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 38 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,917 Amount Saved: $180.5 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 6 Mins: 40 Seconds: 41

Welcome aboard! I'm also a Chantix quitter and I'm feeling very strong in my quit (after 35 years of smoking more than 2 packs a day, I'd say I'm thrilled with my progress). You CAN do this! Congratulations on a great beginning. Keep it going, keep us posted on your progress, holler if you need us, and keep the faith! Hey guys i'm a new member here and just wanted to say hi to everyones who's trying to quit smoking i'm currently 4 days smoke free ever since my doctor put me on chantix and I must say this pill works really well, its only been 4 days but I have no desire to smoke a cigerate and when I do get withdrawl symptoms they only last for a few seconds. I really want to stay quit free this time and I think under chantix I can finally do it. I must admit the first couple of days were kind of hard but its like all the desire to smoke a cigerate just went away once I switched to the 1.0 mg tablets. But anyways I hope I can continue this great start on i'm on it feels really great not having to worry about when my next smoke break will be trying to hide when i'm smoking etc. Well just wanted to share my story and I wish all of you gl who are new to quiting smoking like I am, i'll be sure to post on the messageboard on my success and just for friendly conversation :)
