I am currently using Chantix. Actually I have been working on quitting for a month. I have tried cold turkey, the patch, lozenges, all natural stuff and hypnosis. So far this time is going better. I have also made sure I have a safe place to hide with no stress or worry when I need it. My son is also 21 and out on his own.

Welcome rtchick, auntdeb here 56 yr-old grandma...(cold-turkey quitter for 10 years and started back like a fool...never again) wish they had this site back when I contemplated starting smoking again... funny...I wouldn't be here now supporting or getting support! I'm QUIT NOW THOUGH and hanging tough. Hope you will tell us a little about yourself and share your story. Are you going cold-turkey or using some aid? We have all been in the same place you are now in your new quit. If you have been nicotine free since you quit, then withdrawal is getting close to being over (another day..maybe). Subduing the craving and changing the habit will be the Challenge to overcome. Read, Read, Read is the best advice most of us can give you here. Past and present posts will help give you insight to gunning down "nicodemon... :eg:" our evil addiciton that we have allowed to control our lives for too long. Many of the post are filled with laughter and truth. Enjoy auntdeb :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 47 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,377 Amount Saved: $223.25 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 13 Mins: 1 Seconds: 37

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

I'm one of those who had to quit a few times before it "took". Although I do it 'one day at a time' now, it can be done. Funny thing is, I would have never known which "quit" would have been the one to "take", had I not kept trying. Hang in there, rtchick, it gets better. It really does. One little thing that helped me in the early days was frozen grapes. But by far, posting on this site on a daily basis or as much as I could, was my saving grace. I am also a Chantix quitter after failed attempts too numerous to list! Remember.....NOPE Not One Puff Ever. That was the cause of all of my previous failed attempts...'just one won't hurt'.... Keep the quit! You CAN do it!
