The Magic Ship Continues!

(yelling) R A I N I E! Welcome back. Whether it's just a pit stop or if you're here for the race, we are glad to hear from you. I was thinkin' today (a dangerous thing) about what makes this site so great...how we can be anyone, or anything, we want to be, for a minute, an hour, days, months, or years. Who ever thought I would be a helicopter pilot? Or sail away with so many great people? There is also the freedom (there's that word again) to just be ourselves, warts and all. We can be happy, worried, silly, sad, angry, sick, depressed, PMS'ing (Freemom, I remember those days...faintly)or ramblers and cravers. But we all have two thing in common...we are successful non-smokers, and we really care about each other! I certainly appreciate all of the support, and the great information that is available here. We can ask anything! I am so glad I found this site and all of you clever, imaginative people on this ship and on this journey. And the music today has been superb! Is everyone feelin' music in their bones? But for every good thing, there is a price to pay. In my case, it's what I won't do for a darn string of cheap plastic beads. So today I feel daring... Ok.....here goes (Flashes her biggest smile) I'd like the blue ones please, to go with my hot pink bikini. I have an idea. Madame social director, how about a talent show? I am sure we all have some hidden talents...I didn't know until today that the Capt. plays the harmonica? I'll participate, but I'll have to find my talent. I think I threw it out with my stash. Anyway, it could make for a fun evening on the ship for those without other plans. We can all sit around with a beverage and not smoke together and have some laughs. Have a great non-smoking evening everyone. I am here if you need to fly off any where. Rainie, you just holler if you need a lift. First, my heartiest congratulations to LadyCigevictor...you are an inspiration! Great party, keep soaring. (at attention, and saluting) To the Capt: Great choice for the next leg of the trip. I understand that Martinique is famous for it's world class RUM, and I am looking forward to sampling(now that I know I can have a drink or 3 without smoking). Hope you have a good round of golf. Be nice to your caddy! Okay all, leaving for Daytona, all aboard....and please don't forget my wine! To those who aren't joining us, have a ball whatever you are doing, and we will catch up with you later. Don't leave port without us, we may be delayed by those cute NASCAR boys. MomMom

Good morning all! Slept like a little baby last night. The cabins on this ship are so comfy! Not even a little urge to smoke upon awakening (well, maybe a little one). Now, can someone please direct me to the caffeine? I'm still learning my way around. The chopper will be ready to go at noon, arriving in sunny Daytona in plenty of time to see the race. I was able to arrange tickets for anyone who doesn't have one. (The Capt. hooked me up) Keep an eye on the Toyota cars...MW is my favorite. The weather is sunny but cool, not bikini weather, drat! Well, I made it to day 5, who'd have thunk it? Want to say thanks to all of you and others on this site, you have helped more than you know. It's nice to sail with you all. Here's a song from long ago, appropriate for beginning non-smokers...and the sailing crowd...can anyone NAME THE ARTIST for a chance to meet your favorite driver before the race? (hint: sang with other famiy members) "If, when you're running It seems the wind is always in your face, Just keep on running, Cause the wind, the wind is bound to change" Got to go gas up the copter. See you at noon! Good afternoon all, And thanks for having me aboard. I have been going over the 'copter, seems to be running about as well as the 24 car. No smoke coming from the engine, at least. I am here, at your service, and will do what I can to keep the ship afloat and spirits soaring high. Looking forward to the journey... Did I say Journey? Let's all sing.... "The mist is slowly lifting The sound of life misplaced your mind You're sitting, spellbound thru out time I hope that you remember what you find Singin' more of a lifetime You put it down-all that I'm thinking But take a long and distant search, when all is right You take for granted You can't look down but you're no worse. Singin' more of a lifetime The countless visions that are drifting The silver dreams you hate to lose. There's no harm. We've all been waiting. Well keep your faith. Do what you choose. Singin' more of a lifetime" ---Journey Enjoy the weekend all! I have to tell you a funny story... Sweetheart took me to lunch today to celebrate my quit (he is a non-smoker and trying very hard to be supportive). He took me to our favorite little spot. This time, I said "Non-smoking, please", and he gave me a little wink! He was so proud.....until..... ....he found out you can see the TV better from the smoking section. LOL! What did I learn? I can have a drink (or 3) and still not smoke! NOPE! Oh, I'm new and still learning my way around the ship. Any recommendations on where to get a new bikini? Thanks everyone! Hey shipmates, I am only on my 4th day, but going (pretty) strong. A few rough moments, but got through them. Good news today, my daughter and son-in-law are trying to quit with me (and they are going cold turkey), and my other daughter is thinking about it. Could it be that Mom has more influence than was previously agreed upon? Can't wait to reach the milestones you all have behind you. Blaze that trail, I'm coming along... Oh, forgot to tell you, my reward? Sweetheart bought me a new bass boat. How cool is that? I certainly won't be smoking aboard this one! I'll have some pinot grigio if you have some aboard, and pass the chocolate, please. Thanks all! I'm here. I agree the post is getting a little long...maybe we call it a Magic Ship reunion or something so we can be found? My creative juices just don't have the time to flow right now...it must be the same for many of us. It has been a GREAT help to me, knowing that you were all there to support me. However, I was a newbie to the ship, so I'll go along with the rest of the crew. Whatever you decide is fine with me. I promise to be around...I am not done with this site yet!! Hi everyone, Welcome back Rainie. I hope your bike week was everything you hoped it would be, and then some. Freemom, keep checking in with us. We are still here to help you whenever you are ready. Cap'n, those blues are soundin real cool. Haven't heard much of your music lately. Wanted to update you on Nurse29 and hubby. Both are still smoke free, she since 2/22 and he since 3/4. She is still doing it cold turkey, and he is trying Wellbutrin. They should have the Internet back some time next week....oh boy, no smokin and no Internet! They are getting settled into their new place. Day 27 comes to an end for me. Craves are fewer and far between. Could it be spring is actually coming to E PA? It was a good day and I am in a good way! Enjoy your evening! IT'S THE WEEKEND! Yaaaaaay! Welcome back everyone! For anyone who want to go to Vegas, the chopper will be ready at noon today. I know, I know, the race is tomorrow, but we all need at least an extra day, after all, it's Vegas. GIVE ME A "V"..... GIVE ME AN "E"..... OKay, you get the idea. I had an interesting evening. Sweetheart and I went to Happy Hour, which I haven't been to in 24 days. I knew I could handle it now, and I did. I admit a little jealousy watching others smoke, had a cigar smoker next to me, Oh Joy! The cigarette smokers were across the bar where I could really see every puff. And I watched, and watched, and watched for about 5 minutes, thinking how they are slowly killing themselves. Today I am babysitting the little ones again, at their non-smoking home this time (with the 2 big dogs). It's always fun! By the time I get home it will be Saturday night....oh...I hear something....sounds like music..... I KNOW THAT SONG....It's SATURDAY NIGHT! S.A.T.U.R.D.A.Y. night S.A.T.U.R.D.A.Y. Saturday night S.A.T.U.R.D.A.Y. I'm gonna wash and wax my truck I got a date with lady luck She gonna wear her dancin' shoes And we gonna get just a little footloose Monday, Tuesday, Humpday Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Take up all of my life, and that ain't right I get my rest on Sunday Then I have a little fun on Saturday night S.A.T.U.R.D.A.Y. Saturday night S.A.T.U.R.D.A.Y. Saturday night Saturday night Saturday night Saturday night Well the band just played their last song But me and my baby gonna party on (you know that's right) Gonna find another place with a neon light Can't go home it's Saturday night Monday, Tuesday, Humpday Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Take up all of my life, and that ain't right I take my rest on Sunday Then I have a lot of fun on Saturday night S.A.T.U.R.D.A.Y. I need a nap! What a weekend! Faith and I had a blast in Vegas, and as she says, what happens in vegas, stays in vegas! So don't even ask, my lips are sealed, and Faith, if you hadn't dared me, I probably wouldn't have, but I am so glad I did! tee hee! We sure do want to congratulate the 3 of you: Lady, Rainie (biker chick) and of course, our fearless Capt MrMagic! You have set the bar for the rest of us. Without you and the others on board who have made this journey bearable and a whole lot of fun, I don't know if my quit would be successful. During the first few days I actually lived on this ship...all of my free time was spent either reading this post or digging through the smoke to find the creative part of me to be able to respond. I know I will never have another cig because I can't disappoint any of you, or myself. I've come too far with your help. You shipmates got me through. Just to know you are out there, that we are all here for each other regardless...(and the music helps too!) It seems to me that we know things about each other that nobody else will ever understand. (maybe that's a good thing). A BIG (((HUG))) and thank you to all of you. There is one thing you maybe don't know....I HATE MONDAYS! We all go back to our realities which are not nearly as much fun, even tho' we keep in touch somewhat. 5 days can really drag, but eventually the weekend does come, and along with it some special activity on board. Yes, we are well taken care of and entertained, wined, dined, and....(well, that may have to stay in vegas). What is our next port o' call, and when do we sail? Rio has been fantabulous, and I can't wait for the adventure to continue. Congratulations to each and every one, I raise my full glass to all of us! Oh yeah! I've Loved These Days ~Billy Joel Now we take our time so nonchalant And spend our nights so bon vivant We dress our days in silken robes The money comes The money goes We know it's all a passing phase We light our lamps for atmosphere And hang out hopes on chandeliers We're going wrong we're gaining weight We're sleeping long and far too late And so it's time to change our ways But I've loved these days Now as we indulge in things refined We hide our hearts from hard
