:) Hi everyone. My quit date is Jan. 1, 2007. My son is my main reason for quitting, as well as the financial gain. Hi, my name is Vi and I just quitt smoking on december 26, I would just like to share with everybody that i used a new drug called Chantix, and it works by blocking the nicotine receptors in you brain, so even though you can still smoke the first week your body still feels like you're not getting the nicotine, I know it sounds confusing but it does work,(you can go to their website for a better explanation) first couple days where great i hardly felt any withdrawal symptoms, today I am having a little bit of hard time but I made it through so far and i know deep down in my heart that i will never ever smoke again!!!! Good luck to all!!!!! HI Vi - Another Chantix quitter here. It works, that's for sure. You still go through the other stuff, though. Be dilligent in your quit. Make sure you know that Chantix is only helping you...you're doing the rest. Good luck (it looks like we quit on the same day)... Peace. 2tone My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/26/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 102 Amount Saved: $16.5 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 14 Mins: 10 Seconds: 10

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

Hey Vi - Day 3 was almost a killer for me, too. It's just something about that day that's torture (I guess it's the physical withdrawal). If it's any help, day 4 has been the exact opposite for me. Great day. My point is there are good days and bad days (even with Chantix). Didn't we have good and bad day when we smoked? Did smoking make that bad day any better? Hey, let's face it, if quitting were easy, there would be no smokers left... Be stong. 2tone My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/26/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 107 Amount Saved: $16.5 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 14 Mins: 57 Seconds: 45

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

Welcome, Vi and Mzb: I too quit with the aid of Chantix. In fact, I took my final pill just last night. I found it very helpful, along with my solid, solid commitment to break this addiction for good. I'm so happy to see new people on this support site -- it means we're getting that much closer to bringing tears to the eyes of the tobacco industry leaders. Hurray!! Keep up the good work, keep breathing, keep rewarding yourself and be good to yourself during your quit. Vi: What on earth is a "nicotine-free cigarette"? I've never heard of such a thing. Look, you know that smokers love to sabotage themselves. So, once you had that smoke, did it help? Did it solve all your cravings, all your problems? Of course it didn't. In fact, it just made things worse because now you feel like a "loser" (your words). You allowed yourself to feel like a loser, because you chose to have that smoke. It's all about making choices. On December 26th, you chose to stop smoking. Now that's a good choice. Chantix is a great help, but you have to really want to quit more than you want to smoke. Get right back up on that horse and back to your quit. You CAN do this! Don't fall into the trap of feeling sorry for yourself that you've given up cigarettes. That is so very dangerous. Change your mindset to one that constantly congratulates yourself for making such a great decision, such a wonderful choice to be a nonsmoker. Hang in there and Keep the faith. Oh Vi, I feel for you....I got really good at hiding all the bodies the first few weeks of all the people that got in my way...I will teach you how to do this!! :eg: Seriously, please please be patient with yourself. You are so not a loser!! Quitting smoking is not easy...your trying to beat an addiction. This addiction is psychological and physical, but you are strong. Go back through and read as much in this website as you can. Those cravings and trigger's can be killer's...you just have to be stronger....so flex those muscles, grab some hot tea and JUST SAY NOPE....Not One Puff Ever. So many have beat this addiction...you can do it too.
