So sorry to hear you started smoking but so happy your going to quit again. Cheermom and I were just discussing that it seems like alot of the quits are sabbotaged by having a beer with friends or being at a bar (something that concerns me also)....But look at it this way the next time anyone is having drinks in a bar. We guard our personal safety in all areas of our life. We don't purposefully drive in the opposite lane at oncoming traffic...when we have been drinking...do we play russian roulette with loaded guns....when we have been drinking, do we suddley believe we can fly and climb to the roof of the bar and jump. When we have been drinking, there is that imaginary line that that we draw that keeps us safe while out having fun with our friends. Most of us (all of us should) will call a cab or designate a driver to get us home safely...why shouldn't having a cigerette fall under the same category of "dangerous things to do when your drinking". Instead of thinking the cigerette will make you have a better time while drinking with your friends, it should be put in the "dangerous thing to do" category. Just my thoughts.... There must be something in the air these days....I think I will avoid bars for the rest of my life (Going to sit at home and drink wine/tell jokes and dance by myself)....they sound like a very dangerous place! You know you are getting older when: -A $4.00 bottle of wine is no longer 'pretty good $hi+'. -You drink at home to save money at the bar. -6 am is when you get up, not when you go to bed. -You keep more food than beer in the fridge. -Your houseplants are alive and you can't smoke any of them.

Drinking lowers your inhibitions and you are more likely to behave in ways you would not ordinarily. Need to stay away from the alcohol for awhile. I learned this lesson the hard way at a frat party in college. It is amazing what we do when drinking or going to bars and what we dont do even if we are trashed or whatever you want to call it. I am just glad you didn't give up helpmequit!!! I just want it to be known that I had stopped smoking for 10 months and started back again in full swing two months ago. The all too familiar story about having a beer at a party, and one thing led to another. Yes, I went from a non-smoker back to smoker status. I am stopping again. I will be resetting my counter soon.
