Depression sets in sometime in the first few months, it is not uncommon. Hang in there, this too will pass. Navigator "If it is too be, it is up to me." OH NO, SPARKY! You are doing so well...don't you dare! Yes, $hi+ happens....and just what would smoking accomplish? Every relapse/slip (whatever you want to call it) that I ever had was with a "Just one won't hurt"...."A puff is all I ask"...."I can control my smoking".... Reach deep inside and find the strength to see this through. You CAN do it! You are a strong person! POST------SOON! I think I am in a bad place. Not sure what is going on. I have somehow at this moment lost my desire to quit. I have not smoked, but I am have all those ugly thoughts again. It is so hard to stay positve when things out of or control is going to he%% in a hand basket. I know smoking will not change anything, so I won't. I see friends going though life "stuff" and all I can do is pray and listen. Two friends with cancer, two with mothers dieing, and another having surgery for kidney cancer. What is going on????? I remember other going though stuff around this time in their quit and I have seen some lose and some keep them. Also, and it is my issue but have read where some have smoked half a cig and not think anything about it. Kept their quit date and moved on. So I think well why can't I do that? Why? I would lose my quit in heart beat. So that is not an option. I don't know :quest: I guess I am human and sh%t happens. I know this will pass. Thanks for letting me vent. I am just now doing very well, sorry. Thanks everyone. Just got off line with a very dear friend and we talked me out of smoking. I normally go to an AA meeting on Thruday and meetings are triggers. I have not been a good spot today and really dreading going to night. After talking with her; I am staying home. I need to protect my quit. Made a phone call and told my friend why I wouldn't be there and she understood. Guess I need to pratice HALT. Never get to hungry, never get to angry, never get to lonely and never get to tired... I am getting selfish now. 12 days and I get to go to the beach. I have never been there. One day at a time and I will get there. My next goal. I felt the hugs and the encougement. I will not smoke tonight and I am sure I will be in a better frame of mind tomorrow. I am awake and did not smoke :) Life is going to happen and I do not need to smoke and I do not want to. I did stay home last night. My sobriety comes first, but my quit is right up there. I would do anything to protect both. Thanks to all of you. Got up this morning to an email from a high school classmate. One of them died, lung cancer. I guess I need to understand there is life and there is death. Cycles, yes cycles. Have a great day and keep the quit Sparky/Sharon My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/11/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 39 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 395 Amount Saved: $117 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 7 Mins: 56 Seconds: 9

Sparky - think ahead... think about tomorrow or next week - if you smoke- or wanna smoke - let's jump ahead to next week. How will you feel later if you smoke? NO! You don't want to smoke... I know this to be true as you told us this... You can do this - ride this like a wave, a really big wave, friend... YOU can do this... PERIOD... HOLD ON TIGHT - TO US, TO YOU, HOLD ON... it will pass as the clock ticks... Find a distraction to get lost in... call someone, post here, vent and rant - just don't smoke! Sparky Ride the wave. You know that one or half is never enough. You know how you will feel if you do smoke. You know that by creating this loving intervention in you life you are extending your live and giving your life so that everything that you love will be more. Ride the wave. Getting through to the other side is so huge. Keep going, I promise that the bliss and joy of quitting will be ther for you just as long as you stay quit. Keep working what works and leave all the rest Ciao Phillip My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/17/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 335 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 8,396 Amount Saved: $2680 Life Gained: Days: 55 Hrs: 13 Mins: 28 Seconds: 16
