Suddenly...

I think old nik can sneak up at any moment. Like the post the otherday about someone finding 1/2 a carton in their yard. Yikes. Me walking outside sunday seeing my hubby's smokes. For a split second I almost picked them up. Oh yeah I don't smoke. DUH Although many moons can pass, we can not get lazy with this. We also have to nip any romantising ideas of smoking away. Always remember the pain and suffering of smoking. That should keep you away. Grace

146 days Wow Cheermom that is great. You know winter is not bad for me yet. I hate cold weather. Luckly it has been a little colder than usal so far. (A LITTLE HELP FROM ABOVE FOR ME ) So wehen my hubby goes out there I go BBBUURRRRRR. No thank you, I am so glad I do not have to weather the weather. :p Although Lady hit on something when she talked about all seasons. I bet I might experiance some sort of wavering around spring. Love going outside then..... Nothing scarier than cigs for me today. ;p Grace

When craves hit me, I get busy doing something to occupy my mind, chew gum, (sugarless) deep breathe, type my feelings down on the pc, whatever it takes. The next time I may ask cybrduke to just slap me. ;p (THAT was funny cybrduke) I am at the point now in my quit that whenever I have a crave and if my mind even considers firing up a smoke, it scares me. I'm afraid of what it might do to me now. I guess that's a good thing. It IS strange how suddenly, Nic can jump in your face. Why won't he just give it up and die! Smoking is a very sneaky addiction, so beware at all times, don't ever get complacant about your quit. NOPE is the way to go. :)Marie My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 140 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,106 Amount Saved: $560 Life Gained: Days: 18 Hrs: 12 Mins: 25 Seconds: 49

Dunedad: Don't get discouraged. Yes, there are a lot of us that have been here more than once because we made a mistake, not because it was impossible to do........... I want to quit more than anything but I am not going to quit living and having fun. Part of my distraction in this quit is to focus on the positive and have a little fun along the way...it is within reach. You will not be miserable the rest of your life. Keep everything in perspective, loosen the tie, put on your slippers, relax and CHILL.............you will be fine! Perhaps, Neek, you could smoke thru the winters and quit during the summers? Can't have your cake and eat it too! You know what you need to do and you know what you want to do, or you wouldn't be here. So, reach deep down and find the strength and stamina to see this thru! Interesting, I have never met a smoker who says they were glad they started smoking. I know a lot of quitters who say they are glad they quit... I'm in Arizona too. I can't wait to spend my first Christmas as a non smoker. I can't wait to smell the smells of Christmas like never before. (or at least so long ago I can't remember ... heh!) Dunedad, Hang in there. It can be overwhelming to think of the future in the long-term. Just focus on getting through today and tour the Hall of Fame if you need some inspiration from long-term quitters. Keep persevering. Danielle _____________________ The SSC Support Team

Hi Phil, yep, it has almost gotten me since sunday and yesterday. Been harder and I think for me its the cold weather. My hubby runs outside to smoke then brings the stinch back in. But I am holding onto my 146 days!! I love the fact I proved to myself I can actually do this. Hugs to everyone and KEEP THOSE QUIT NUMBERS Kim My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/7/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 146 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,661 Amount Saved: $591.3 Life Gained: Days: 12 Hrs: 21 Mins: 46 Seconds: 37
