Thank you so much everyone. Today was actually a really hard day. I actually thought I was going to quit quitting. But I held on and made it through and another day is almost done :)Having the posts here really helped me to get through. I guess everyone needs some encourgement now and then. I think that I just panicked that everyone I tell in my hometown seems to have re-started smoking. Most of them like to let me know that it happened around this time of their quit. I know they don't mean to be making me crazy, after all it's up to me to do this so it shouldn't matter what they say, or how they did or didn't do when they quit. Or maybe hearing "What's wrong, you've got this beat now". Well, I sure didn't feel as though I had beaten it earlier today. I know inside that I can do this, sometimes it's hard to remember why I think I can do this. Then, I just sit back and think, "It was important enough to me to work this hard for this long, so whether I think I know now, my reasons obviously are important to me." Thanks. No NRT's or meds now. I used the patch for 2 days and had convinced myself that it wasn't working, so starting Day 3 I didn't put on a new one. (Why bother? It's not working. LOL) Everyone says this is mind over matter, I guess they are right. Now I'm completely smoke free and loving it. Hello everyone. I am celebrating my first week smoke free today. I never would have thought that I could do this, I couldn't get through 1 hour without a smoke. Now, I consider my self a non-smoker. And it feels wonderful. To anyone thinking of doing this, or just starting out, it is worth it. It may not always seem this way, but when you start to feel better physically, and emotionally, you understand. It's our RIGHT to take care of our bodies and not letting this addiction rule us is a great affirmation to being in charge of our lives. Congratulations! I am not that far past 7 days myself, and how proud you must be. Stay strong! There may be more hard days ahead, but the way I looked at it (and still do) was for each hard day or crave, it meant it was one less to go through later. One step at a time....you can do it.
