Way to go I'm just finishing day 4 as well. Had a bit of a ruff day on thursday pretty cranky and wanted a cig real bad for about 5minutes and then gone on to other stuff at work and forgot about it. I too have been feeling slugging and tired this week. Only had one bad bout of coughing and cleared out some gunk but I guess its all part of the process of coming clean as they say. congrats on your 4th day everybody has been saying they are so proud of me I guess I'm proud of me too. Thanks I have been reading alot of the posts and it really does help.

When I quit on saturday, I felt pretty good. I didn't hardly cough at all. But yesterday and today is not so good. And on top of that I now have a head cold with a very sore throat. I remember smoking with a cold, this is definetly different having a cold without smoking. Is anyone on Chantix/ Have a smoke free day! dottie

glad to here so many good stories of success, it really does help. I'm up late tonight due to a cold, sore throat. I didn't cough much the first 4 days, then came down with this cold and I can't lay down without coughing which really hurts my throat. Tomorrow will be a tough day for me, I have to go to my parents and take care of my dad while my mom and sister go out. Her husband will be there and he smokes alot. Last time I started it was with him. But I have to help my mom and dad, so I will take lots of licorice. That's how I made it through the first 4 days! Wish me luck! Still smoke free and doing ok. I'm feeling like I might be coming down with a cold as well, or maybe it's the nicotine leaving my body in anger 'cause I'm kicking it's butt!! Keep up the good work all!! 11 days and counting. I still can't believe that I've went this long and haven't even cheated. I 've been tooting my own horn all day long. I haven't had any real problems with withdrawl symptons. I quit the wellbutrin after the first week because I couldn't sleep. So it's been just me since Sunday. I feel so excited about being a non-smoker. Never in my life would I have thought that I would say those words. NON-SMOKER! EVerybody say it out loud. Doesn't that sound great. Good luck to all and keep up the quits. NOPE! Hey there, I'm actually having a pretty good day nine. The sore throat is clearing up, the coughing is clearing up. Today is the first day I haven't thought about cigarettes every three minutes. I have been pretty crabby though. I've already apologized to two people at work for being short with them. I'm thinking of having apology notes printed up in bulk. Tomorrow is day ten.......into the double digits. Not in thirty years of smoking have I ever made it this far! Hope everybody's well....thanks for all the wonderful support I've found here. Still here and today was probably one of the best days I've had. Keeping busy is huge. I hate how busy work is but it really helps when my mind is full of numbers. Some unexpected anger, quickly passes. Now, I'm hungry all the time though :( I never made healthy food choices (M&M's were great for dinner for me - the child always gets healthy meals - the husband, it's hit or miss), but I'm going to change my attitude and start buying and eating healthy. I'm finding that at least a bowl of cereal in the monring or a bit of toast and jam helps the day start on a nicer note. Cheers all. I'm continued to be amazed at the Chantix. Oh Auntie Deb, following your lead: Coughing - yuck, I posted about it on with withdrawal board. Same deal here. Hurt my back. Weight - I didn't bother weighing myself before the quit. I think I'm the same weight, maybe a couple of pounds, I'm not worried about it, I'ld rather gain 20 lbs and be smoke free than coughing (remind me when I'm put on weight ;)). Actually, like you, I look better with weight on me. Teeth - still yellow. I have not been rewarding myself - that is my problem. I came very, very close to buying a back of cigarettes today. My boss asked me "what's up with you today - you're HYPER". I am, I thought he might think I'm on drugs but I talked to his wife (who knows what I'm going through and they have their own stuff going on and can relate). She talked to me for 20 minutes (we're friends). Phew, thanks for letting me blow that off but today, day 6, almost one week has not been what I thought it would be. Next! LOL. Marie
