I've been on klonopin for sev yrs & have NEVER felt
the need to abuse it. yes, we may become
dependent on it, but there is a difference between
this & abuse. I sometimes only need 1/4 tab
instead of 1/2 two x's day------& if you place this
under your tongue, it gets into your system very
quickly & last a long time-------up to 8-10hrs. you
will get used to it, & it will not make you tired . just
take a 1/4 or 1/2 tab instead of a whole & see if this
helps fatigue
When I first started Xanax about 16 years ago, it was a wonder drug. I went from going nowhere to everywhere. Then in the past few years it's been getting worse. I've also been on Propanolol for about 20 years. Doc says the 2 together have probably kept my panic in check. From what I understand, the liver starts rejecting the Xanax and upping my dose will do no good, because the liver has orders to kill Xanax. I forget where I read that, but I wish my liver would leave my Xanax alone.
Susanne, I would like to thank you for the encouraging words. We all need these words occasionally, to keep us going. I am learning to deal with these attacks. Fortunately the meds are helping me deal with them and of course when I start therapy, perhaps I will get a better understanding of what is going on with me. I live alone, so it is frightening. I spent the day with my family, which made me feel whole. Havent the presence of people around me, was quite comforting. I will write more soon and I hope everyone tried to enjoy their day. Hopefully all will get better soon........
Hello everyone. I am new here and very scared of these panic attacks I have been having. They put me on xanax, but the side effects were too much for me. I am now trying clonapin and so far it seems to be working, with very little side effects. I am starting to see a therapist to talk about this and why all of a sudden this has happened. It has effected my daily routines in my life. I just wanted to share some of my feelings and I will write more soon.
I take mine 2 times a day. .5 mg a dose.
My tiredness is actually getting better. Thankfully. =0)
Its working good on my anxiousness. I have had no attacks in a few days which is nice.
Ive just been on konopin full time for a week. .5mg 3 times a day. Makes me very tired. Doctors says it'll get better in time. Have xanax as a back up if I have a panic attack(.5mg sublinqual) but havent had to use it yet.
Well I am on day 2 of the clonazepam. I woke up feeling so tired. Thankfully both boys were sick so they stayed home. I went to nap at 10ish and woke at 2is this afternoon.
Is this a side effect that will wear off after a few days? I can't be this tired during the day and be functional as a SAHM to the 3 kids. Getting to bus stops and such.
And how is one to drive????
hi ive been on the klonapin for about 3 months now [was on clonazepam, but they gave this to me so i could get on the drug assistance program] and they are the same drug. i used to take ativan but they wanted me to stick with just one med. they have me take 1 .05 at bedtime and half of one in the am. it seems to really help me sleep at night and although i wake up sometimes early in the am with panic the med does help. yes the klonapin or the clonazepam both are longer lasting then the ativan. ive been taking a capfull of rice vinegar once a day and it seems to help with the early panic. dont know why it seems to help but so far it has. a lady online at a stop smoking site told me about this and shes only had 1 attack in 3 years so im giving it a try. hang in there. some days are better then others so lets hope they all turn better.
