I don't have panic attacks, I only had 2 in my life.
I have anxiety really bad, and agoraphobia.
Anyway, I think when you feel one coming on, or think you might have one, go and do something.
This might help, I know it's getting colder,(depends where you live) but I would go out in the yard and pull weeds. I was consentrating on that. I would feel much better and wouldn't have to take a xanax.
You can wash dishes, vacuum, do a crossword puzzle, arts and crafts. Make sure it's something a little active, I mean just don't sit and watch tv. If your mind is occupied, your panic disappears. I don't mean it always does, or maybe it does.
It is different for everyone, just try it, what's the worst that can happen? You don't have an attack. If you do have an attack at least you tried.
