Hi Anna, and Congrats on your quit. Keep up the good work.:) I quit cold turkey once and the first 3 days I went through major withdrawals from crying, shaky hands to grumpy. Never want to go through that again. However, there are ppl whom can quit cold turkey without difficulity. This quit Im on Chantix and this drug is working for me. I still go through withdrawals, but not as bad as when I went cold turkey. Hugs for your quit, keep up your more healthier :) :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 7 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 207 Amount Saved: $56 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 15 Mins: 37 Seconds: 30

Same here - using Chantix and quite happy for the most part. Even my kids haven't made me particularly crabby lately. Hi Anna, great news on your quit, and cold turkey to boot. Not sure I will screw up your data base, but I have been taking Chantix, and have not experienced being grouchy or irritable at all. I know that it has worked for me and it has helped and was indeed worth the try. Mr.Magic

Well I am happy to see that everyone is happy! I wasn't pointing any fingers, just thought I noticed a trend. Maybe not though. Investigation closed, I will stick with my day job. Chicknoodle, sorry about your gas leak! That is funny. Haven't heard of that symptom. Maybe you should start a new thread and we can take a vote on that problem! My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/8/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 32 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 494 Amount Saved: $134.4 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 1 Mins: 11 Seconds: 19

Hey everyone on Chantix. I quit cold turkey so I don't have any personal experience with this medication. It does seem to me that people who have used it tend to mention how grouchy and irritable they are. Something you all might want to check into! :) To investigate maybe we could start a thread saying what we quit on and the most noticed symptoms. I guess I will start it by saying - Cold turkey - no major or unusual withdrawl symptoms My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/8/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 32 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 490 Amount Saved: $134.4 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 0 Mins: 35 Seconds: 28

Hi Anna, and congratulations to all you happy quitters! Wow, remind me never to accept an arm wrestling invitation from any of you cold-turkey quitters! That's impressive everyone...I'd still be curled up in the fetal position, sucking my thumb at this point had I tried that route. I did 3-4 weeks cutting down then a very low dose generic zyban/wellbutrin the week before my quit just to take the edge off. Early on I decided to use laughter/walking/rewards to enhance the feel-good endorphins and education (thank you SSC and Allen Carr) as the major components of my quit. I am very happy to report having had no...that's none, zip, zero, zilch, nada, nothing...major withdrawl symptoms or cravings of any kind (except for about 30 seconds mental craving, when given sudden sad health news in my family). Over all I feel disgustingly, deleriously happy and pleased with my quit. I've only been really grumpy a couple of times when I've had less than 2 or 3 hours sleep because of the medication. This will end soon and I'm so happy to have my life back...I no longer feel like the slave I was for almost 35 years. Hello Anna I have quit cold turkey, no withdrawal symptoms. I am being told that I am a lot happier and I laugh a lot more since quitting. Go figure. The only thing I have changed is I now drink lots of water. No grouchy or grumpy feelings here. Laughter is the best medicine. Hi Anna, I quit cold-turkey in 1982 and I was cranky and grouchy and then went into depression. I haven't experienced any of that using Chantix..it's been the best product I ever used...(and I have tried almost all of them) auntdeb My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 39 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,996 Amount Saved: $185.25 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 11 Mins: 51 Seconds: 54

Hi Anna, Another Chantix user here! My dear husband told me that since I had quit smoking I was much more calm, kind and patient! LOL He was serious too!! In fact, I've had that comment from other people too. Makes me feel really proud! The only symptom that I can complain about is the abundance of incredible gas! I try to look at that positively and use it to have a little fun at work! Other than that, I'm extremely with my Chantix quit!
