Hey Rainie: I was looking through the topics looking for you and wondering how you are doing on your quit and looks great! I am happy for you. I had quit christmas day and gone back end of jan and til this past sunday. quit again and feeling strong. it's been three days now and it's just one day at a time. keeping busy is important cus when that stinkin thinkin comes in- gotta divert the attention to something else. I'm glad to be back and back on track. Have a great smoke free day! My plan sista is to take it one day, one minute, one second at a time and be realistic this time. Ya I will get cravings, ya they may get intense sometimes, but if I can project my mind to go beyond that moment and to think -"how will I feel tomorrow?" then I can let go of this moment and be enthusiastic about tomorrow and having another smoke-free day behind me. I have gone weeks without smoking, as my boyfriend says I can quit, it's the STAYING quit I do like you said give in too easy. This time I want to go a month, two months, three months, etc. the rest of my lifetime. I have two very encouraging fans (my 7 yr old twins who wrote a letter about how my smoking, stopping, smoking, stopping broke their hearts to pieces of glass. They want me around, and I want to be around. I also don't want to be an example of what not to do with stress. So sista have a great day and keep up your great work! I have been sitting here all morning wondering why I was feeling sort of out of it. Not a huge crave, not a "I am not going to make it", nothing like that. I have just been THINKING all morning. Not concentrating on anything. Well, hello! I was sitting there lofting into what I don't know but sure didn't follow my own set rules. "Get busy", "don't give your mind time to think/argue", "eat,drink,post,eat,walk,eat,read,eat,eat,eat,eat-ok, enough eating" I was losin' my attitude!!! The only thing that has changed is my hand is not going back and forth to my mouth, forcing my mouth to draw in a smoke that burns my tongue, inside my mouth, and down the back of my throat. That is just a motion. I surely could learn how to stop crossing my legs a certain way, right? So I too can learn how to not do that one really silly action. It is just a behavior nothing more nothing less. So, lesson for me... don't wallow! Get up shake it off and go on about my day. Hey Cassie! Thanks for noticing my happy quit dance! Are you ready for this quit now? Are you all set with coping skills? I was thinking yesterday about the time I quit for 20 days and how different it is this time. I can honestly say that when the going got tough I REALLY didn't TRY not to smoke... I just gave in so easy. Threw my hands up in the air and said I just can't do this. And plowed right through that first pack. Well, this time is just great. Now, mind you, it hasn't been without moments. But that is just what they have been.... moments. I have practiced and practiced how to change the way my mind was "thinking". I have come along way in 34 days. But it took effort and work. Not like last time. So...sista...whats your plan?
